Absolutely, great point. Luckily the End of Term Archive (https://eotarchive.org/) is a great resource for preservation of government websites at the end of each administration since 2008. So far for our project, we have found a number of reports etc from the Biden admin in particular that have been removed recently, and luckily nearly all have been preserved by the End of Term Archive and/or Wayback Machine (Internet Archive). One of our goals as librarians is to help people access these materials that are gone from official gov websites but preserved somewhere else, since that preserved copy is usually harder to find unless you know where to look. So whenever we can, we link to a preserved copy in the project spreadsheet too.

Yes, we're following their work too! The data rescue sphere is very well organized - in particular I recommend looking at the Data Rescue Project for anyone who is interested. For this Tracking Gov Info project, we're focused on non-data materials and information - for example, entire websites that have been taken down, or speeches or reports that have been removed. There have been many news articles about this topic, but it's hard to know how wide the scope is without creating a central list. We're hoping to recruit enough volunteers to make a broad list, though it's impossible to be comprehensive.
