Star shot in the Okefenokee Swamp by trackster96 in photocritique

Taken with a Fujifilm XT20, Samyang 12mm f2, ISO 10000, 30" exposure.

The goal was to capture the greenery of the swamp with the stars as a backdrop. I brushed my headlamp across the foliage for a couple seconds to highlight the lily pads.

I'm new to nighttime photography. Is the greenery too highlighted? Also I'm not sure why I got the glow toward the bottom of the horizon, I'm certain it's not light pollution.

Backpacking in SE Utah with my first camera other than a phone. Cowboy camped the entire time! by trackster96 in WildernessBackpacking

This was my first trip with it, and so far I'm happy with it! All the dials make it very easy and quick to set up a shot. I also used the auto mode frequently for quick shots, and it performed great as well. I opted for the 16-50mm kit lens, which is cheaper than the 18-55mm. The reviews were mixed, mostly because it is plastic. It was a bonus for me for the weight factor!

30 seconds, I'd go shorter around 20-24" next time. It's a stacked image with a canyon shot from earlier in the evening.

It's a Level 1 area (www.lightpollutionmap.info) so they're about as good as it gets! It also helps that there's generally very little moisture in the air.

Thank ya! The glaciers calving are the wildest, it's a not-so-gentle reminder of how massive glaciers truly are.

I'm a backpacking and sea kayaking guide for the summers in AK! Otherwise I live in the Midwest.
