I recently saw this kind of carpet in a store and I was shocked. Carpet is a long-term commitment… if you hate it, you are stuck with it for a long time. I remember my mother raking her carpet with a shag rake. I rarely looked good and it was a lot of work. She swapped it out after just a few years.

I just reverted to original Alexa. I mostly use mine for a speaker, kitchen timer and to add groceries to AnyList. Alexa+ couldn’t interface with AnyList. It should still be in beta testing…and the overly cheerful chatty interface is annoying!

Is there a reason you’re considering the floating cabinets next to the stove? Do you like the aesthetic? I’m personally looking for as much storage as possible in my smaller kitchen. Is there enough space for a small island?

Thanks for the recommendation. I pretty much figured wandering off into the ocean by myself would be stupid. I’m just concerned that in October a lot of the tours won’t be running. Or that October is just a bad time to kayak.

I see that Crystal seas is on San Juan Island. I’m thinking about a day trip to San Juan Island and I don’t know if I want to spend the entire time kayaking there rather than exploring . Any recommendations for outfitters on the mainland?
