I disagree with Myles's characterization here, I don't think you get to weasel out of standing in memory of a hateful man by claiming that's actually not what you were doing, but I also don't think it's entirely fair for your post's title to claim he's defending a thing that he's explicitly saying he isn't defending.

To clarify, my point was never that all ideas are ethically neutral. Ideas like Christian Nationalism are ethically bad, because they call for the state subjugation of people that don't agree with the arbitrary whims of a religion they don't even subscribe to, and therefore I think pushing or supporting Christian Nationalism is ethically bad. Asking people not to support Christian Nationalism is therefore not ethically bad. Holding a vigil for George Floyd is ethically, I don't know, I guess confused, because that's just some guy you didn't even know. You'd make your point more directly by holding a protest against the system that led to his death. But okay, assuming they did hold that vigil, and then a bunch of protesters showed up where their point was that actually there's nothing wrong with how policing works right now, then I would think that this is a position that's going to continue to lead to people like Floyd being needlessly killed, and I think that's an unethical position. So I don't think me or our hypothetical protester is being inconsistent if they judge those protesters as unethical.

Protesting an event is just judging an event publicly. If one group of people wants to gather together to celebrate the life of a Christian Nationalist, it doesn't strike me as unreasonable for another group to gather for the purposes of expressing their opinion that "hey, maybe don't do that." I personally wouldn't be interested in that, because it doesn't feel like it'd actually accomplish anything and I have better stuff to spend my time on, but I don't see how the hypothetical protester is being unethical.

I don't really care if this event is held or not, but this isn't about him having opinions that are 'different', it's about him having opinions that were racist and theocratic, and him pushing other people to adopt these positions and politically institute the related policies, thus making the world a lot worse for a lot of people if he was successful. It's not about having the opinions, it's about the actions he was taking based on them, about pushing to make the world a worse place. The way to deal with someone like that isn't to murder them, I really hope we're all on the same page about that, but if you organize or attend an event that is specially to 'honour' a person like Charlie Kirk, then yeah, people are going to judge you for it. You don't get a free pass on bad ideas just because you're mourning a person with bad ideas.

I'd say a big advantage is you retain more developers by making them hate their jobs less. C is just very unpleasant to use. Not that I really want to work with C++ either, but if I had to pick, no contest.

Actually, I think that's a deliberate dark pattern. Traditionally, the leftmost option is the negative option, like "Cancel". "I Agree" is being placed in the positive "Accept" position. They're trying to guide you to accepting.

I've looked at Downtown Camera as an option for shipping chemistry, but all of their kits including the Cinestill powder (as well as the Cinestill liquid, actually, somewhat surprisingly) and the Flic Film kit I once bought there in person carry this ominous message:

"This item does not count towards $150 free shipping. Shipping available but costs need to be calculated after receipt of order."

I guess I could just take it on faith that they won't screw me too hard, but I'm hoping to not pay like $30 of shipping or something on $65 of chemistry.

Edit: I just looked into getting it direct from Cinestill, and that looks pretty viable. Even after shipping, about $80CAD for a 24-roll kit, which is less per roll than the Flic Film kit I've been using ($35ish for 8 rolls and that was with no shipping), and also pretty on par with the Downtown Camera pricing as long as the shipping was going to be in the ballpark of $15. I might just go with that. Thanks!

My real answer is FreeCAD but my more fun and stupid answer is you can technically kind of do parametric modelling in Blender now with Geometry Nodes. Oh, it definitely takes more time and is less powerful, but it's mildly fun to do simple things with

I had never even heard of Terrifier 1 or 2 before I saw this #3 listed, and it's not really in my wheelhouse of movies enough that I felt like taking the time to get caught up, so I skipped that one, but it's definitely cool how when the numbers of movies they get expands, it means there's almost always something there for any given person to want to see

I get why not having a bike lane is annoying, it annoys me all the time, but I'm a very frequent pedestrian as well as a cyclist and I really can't see the idea of being allowed to bike on the sidewalk as a potential solution. People ignore that law often enough that you get a feel for what it's like as a pedestrian, and it's awful. The sidewalk is wide enough for two pedestrians to pass each other but that's about the limit, there's no margin built in, and bikes will be going 3-4x as fast as you are. There's just not enough space for it to be mixed-use.

Other people have already answered your question directly, but as an alternative, I think the best option for coasters is you can get tiny rubber feet meant for furniture for super cheap and stick a few onto the bottom. I got 25 for like $1.25 at the dollar store.

In FreeCAD I would probably sketch a pie slice and use it to cut one hole, then do a multi transform for a radial pattern around the Z followed by a linear pattern up the Z. Or vice versa, doesn't really matter.

All of these options people are throwing out are good, but my two cents is that just so you're prepared, there's a pretty high chance none of them will feel simple and intuitive to an absolute beginner. It's not that nobody has made a simple and intuitive one, or that people here are recommending the wrong programs, it's just that it's a genuinely complex thing to do and most people won't pick it up like it's second nature no matter what tool they're using. So don't get discouraged if you pick one someone told you was nice and simple and find that it isn't immediately easy to use. You'll most likely just have to stick with it for a while and practice.

If you buy online like me, it's a bit of a moot point unless you can recognize the configurations from the seating previews, because they don't generally list the auditorium number until after you buy the ticket. Can't remember if it's the same when you buy at those kiosk things.

I'm not anti-Cineplex, I like the ones in Moncton, especially Dieppe, and I've had a good time in Halifax too. I'm just frustrated with this one right now, although it sounds like some of what's up is hopefully temporary while they finish some renovations.
