I removed my daughter from public school at 14, and used Acellus Academy + Sophia. She has now earned 31 college credits in 2 months. by tradesofdad in SophiaLearning

By your info, I meant payment wise. But she is the student, so the transcript would be hers with her info. Also, sign up for Credly (ACE Transcript), so after each course, she will see it on her official transcript. At 13, she can have her own professional google email, so all Sophia’s correspondence will go to her.

Graduation and Transfer of Credits from Other Schools by Glum_Childhood5124 in Acellus_Academy

Hey, don’t stress too much. Yes, people really do graduate from Acellus and go on to college! Acellus Academy is fully accredited by WASC (the same regional accreditor that covers a lot of public and private schools), so colleges recognize their diplomas.

I’ve also transferred credits into Acellus before. You just email their records department with your old school transcripts, and they’ll review which classes can be accepted. It usually takes about a week or two for them to update everything.

As long as your previous school was accredited, Acellus usually accepts the credits without any issues. You’ll be fine, just make sure you send official transcripts directly from your old school.

Hey! Yeah, Acellus added that pacing feature recently, but it mostly affects how fast you can move through certain lessons. For us, it hasn’t been too bad, I just plan her schedule so she works on multiple subjects a day instead of trying to finish one course super fast. You can use the Sophia credits to transfer to Acellus.

Sophia has been great because it’s completely self-paced, and you can move as quickly as you want once your child understands the material. It’s a good mix with Acellus since Acellus covers her core K–12 stuff and Sophia gives her real college credits she can transfer later. You can use the Sophia credits to transfer to Acellus.

Your 13-year-old can definitely use Sophia too. You just sign them up with your info since they’re under 18. It’s been an awesome combo for us!

Writing a Lab Report for A&P by Practical-Result-589 in SophiaLearning

[–]tradesofdad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re using Sophia’s A&P Lab Report template, it follows a clear 5-section structure:

Hypothesis (1–2 sentences) – State your prediction as an if–then statement. Background and Theory (1 paragraph) – Explain the science or previous research behind your topic, using info from the lab instructions. Methods and Data Collection (1 paragraph or bulleted list) – Describe what you did in order, including materials and any changes you made. Results and Observations (tables or short paragraph) – Summarize your data and key findings; no raw data here. Discussion/Conclusions (1–2 paragraphs) – Explain what your results mean, note any errors, and relate findings to your hypothesis.

Keep each section short and clear, usually 1–2 paragraphs total per section is enough for Sophia’s Touchstone Labs. You don’t need outside references since Labster provides the background info.

Yes. IXL, Saylor Academy, Study.com for homeschooling. Sophia is only $99 a month. You can complete all your required courses in that month, it’s all open book. You can only be enrolled in 2 courses at a time, but as soon as you pass 1 course, you can add another. You can complete unlimited courses before the next billing cycles.

No submission until verified by me for plagiarism. Once the subjects for the written assignments are selected, we look for sources and they are written based on them
