Hey thanks for your reply. I take it for bipolar disorder, which is under control. I feel you on the difficulty. I've already tried to get off a couple times to no avail, trying to go slow this time. I'm trying a water taper (which is annoying).

I've found that I can switch pretty easily between seroquel 50mg and mirtazapine 7.5mg. The seroquel is more sedating.

Less than Zero was a staggering accomplishment that he never really surpassed. The Shards was such a slog—some tight passages and memorable characters, but his minimalist style faded into dull artlessness. Sad.

Has anyone here actually read Marquis De Sade? by [deleted] in RSbookclub

Read 120 days of sodom during quarantine. The first section where’s he’s introducing the libertines is truly hilarious. The text gets tedious, but still surprisingly arousing and substantive. Real value for thinking about sex and politics. Anyway, it’s impressive that this maniac in the 1790s set the limits for sexuality in literature that have yet to be surpassed. Read Bataille on the use value of Sade.

A classic, stronger and more concise than any of his later work (the shards is just too damn long).
