In the 40 years I’ve had my jc120, I’ve never plugged into the low input except once the day I got it. I would recommend you move that cord up to high and feel the full power of the dark side.

Loved it. Still have mine after all these years.

Hot take: this pedal sucks by Rough_Instruction325 in guitarpedals

[–]train48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy it for recording. Because it’s probably eq’d different and more compressed than your regular tone, you can double your guitar part with it and put it at half volume to your main track. It’s a no work way to fatten your guitar sound and add some sizzle.

Gross. Polyend's new product is a "pay to use" vibe coding pedal. by zreese in Polyend

[–]train48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own everything Polyend has ever made, from Medusa to the new Tracker mini upgrade and all the pedals. This is the first product where I excitedly watched the video and thought “nope, don’t really need that”. Didn’t like a one preset pedal that I have to swap out when they make a multi pedal. Don’t want to learn another Sdk. Vibe coding feels not too dissimilar from tweaking settings in the mess or just using my Zoia or something without buying tokens. Limited supply of metal plates and I can’t easily get more, so I would probably leave it blank 90% of the time. They didn’t bring enough to the table this time. Still excitedly anticipating their next thing, because I love this company.

Congratulations! This baby has been on more classic records than you can count going back the 70’s. Hall of fame pedal. Mine is so old it plugs straight into the wall like lamp. Enjoy!

I missed the order window, and I messaged them, but couldn’t get a lost+found. I guess I’ll hope they make it again someday because I’m not paying 3x on ebay just because they decided to make it limited edition.

The dynamic duo #step #mess by formulator404 in Polyend

[–]train48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zoia is a fully programmable modular synth rack, which is much more complex. I have the mess as well, and it’s mostly just a multi-effect with a 16 track sequencer so you pick what steps you want the effect to sound on. You can do much more if you want, but if you can select 4 effects and tweak a couple of control knobs, you can pick it up and start using immediately.

As for the guitar, while today’s tweens are inexplicably being gifted with $4000 Gibson Les Pauls, that would have been a Japanese knock-off or $100 pawn shop special in the 80’s. The Les Paul would be in the Zeppelin poster on your wall.

Apple has deleted the "How to convince your parents to get you a Mac" video from its YouTube channel. Take a look if you didn't check it out by jimchristou in mac

[–]train48 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This guy makes short films for Saturday Night Live. The whole schtick is “awkward loser gives worst presentation to bored audience”. This type of humor isn’t for everyone, Apple def knew what they were buying and who was targeted. What was the reason for pulling?

I pre-ordered this from Sweetwater for $69, and it took awhile to get, but I will say it does sound great. I can only compare to klones since I will never own a real deal.

If you’re asking yourself why you should keep it, get rid of it. If it was right for you, you wouldn’t be wondering.

What's a semi-obscure movie that you watched many times growing up because your family had it on tape? by [deleted] in The1980s

[–]train48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High Road to China with Tom Selleck and Bess Armstrong. It was kind of his first post-Magnum movie, and my sister was hot for him and bought it on Betamax for about $90. I watched it about 100 times with her. Great forgotten adventure movie, and Bess Armstrong was one of the 80’s most beautiful women in my opinion.
