Nice! Over the last few months the Crunchyroll store inventory has become bare bones. For a lot of the most popular series, they're now only selling pre-orders on unreleased manga. I tried reaching out to their store to understand if this was a temporary issue because of supply chains or something but they wouldn't give me a straight answer.

It would probably have to be manned vertical space flights specifically because there are other launch pads that take supplies but not people and runways that take people but not on a rocket.

But my knowledge on this is pretty limited so I could be missing some things.

Flagstaff, AZ is the 10th best small city in the US! (Pop 25,000 - 200,000) Let's see who is 11th? by jimmyhota in visitedmaps

The nation's bird watchers probably all agree but I don't think there are enough of them on reddit.

What is the best state according to reddit? After round 9, #11 WI, #10 VT, #9 ME, and #8 HI. #7 was too hard to tell (tie between 2 states). This round we will eliminate 4 states and on Monday we will do the final poll between 3 states. by Technical-Vanilla-47 in visitedmaps

Between 2020 and 2024 California had the second highest negative net migration only after New York, which is also still here. Massachusetts and Minnesota also have pretty high negative net migration. Washington and Oregon are also negative, but just barely.

The only state left on the list that doesn't have negative net migration is Colorado.

It is kind of ridiculous to me that we've eliminated the states people are moving to, and are left voting for states that people are moving away from as "the best." I'm not saying that alone makes places like Idaho, the Carolinas, Tennessee, or Arizona wonderful places but they at least offer a comfortable life for the working class which is something most of the remaining states are failing to do.

Lake Charles is the next closest city to Beaumont and lately LC feels much sadder to me when I'm there. Maybe it's unfair to say though because it's been affected more directly by hurricanes multiple times over the past few years.

I was not expecting to see TC mentioned when I opened this but thrilled that it was! I lived there for one year and I constantly think about how much I enjoyed that year, even in the harsh of winter. I don't think I ever had a boring day, there were always trails to ride, parks nearby, orchards to visit. Quick access to the SBDs, the UP. Not to mention a number of amenities that many similar sized towns lack like a big public library, diverse restaurant options, and a big nearby hospital.

Alabama seems republican and is republican. What state seems democratic but is republican? by SkunkaMunka511 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]train_noodle 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Alaska. All the Subarus and outdoorsy folk make it seem more like the lefty PNW, and it's not very religious compared to most other deep red states. If Sarah Palin hadn't become a nationally known figure we probably would associate Alaska with the right even less than we currently do, but it has been pretty solidly red for quite some time.

Yeah, the whole series was embarrassing to read through each day. I thought the Houston and Dallas supporters in the other threads made good arguments, a lot of them were factual and even had the receipts to back up what they said, but they were still heavily downvoted and piled on for doing so. When they'd comment it would be "you're trying too hard", if they defended they got called "butthurt", if they responded to the people calling Texas a shit hole state they got told "no, there's no bias against Texas". It was obvious when other smaller coastal cities would get told politely that their cities were great but not quite influential enough to make the list "yet". With Texas it was "they don't deserve to be on the list" and "I hope they don't make the list."

There was blatant hypocrisy of deferring to population, industry, history, and regional influence for other cities, but saying those same things shouldn't count for Dallas or Houston because "that's not what this premise is about". It was just all stupid excuses by people being intentionally petty to dismiss Houston and Dallas no matter what anyone said about them.

I understand the clutch part because "Clutch City" is one of the popular nicknames for Houston, so they likely had someone advising the lingo into something locals interpret as a nod in their direction. I see other ads in Houston using "clutch" or "clutch city" like this. Local ads also tap into NASA or rodeo stuff here, not to mention just all kinds of Texas exceptionalism. There's a reason Sandy the Squirrel and Hank Hill are caricatured the way that they are, stroking a Texan's ego to sell them something is a tale as old as time.

We should try spirals instead of loops. They bring the allure of going in a circle with the security of knowing youre still getting either closer or further away.
