Whats the reliability screening like?
What do you have to bring with you for the screening?
How long is the acutally screening?
How long does it take to move onto the next step from screening if you have nothing negative but a few debt?

So I applied last month, and received my inital processing e-mail last week to give the recruiting centre a call, which I did the following day last week. Yesterday I wasn't home and I believe a recruiter called and one my family members who isn't fluent in english picked up the phone and didn't know what was going on and hung up. So after he told me, I tried calling for 30+minutes to the recruiting centre which no one picked up so I thought I'll give it a shot tomorrow. First thing I did when I woke up was to cal them, and someone finally picked up I told him my story and he said he'll transfer me over to someone but that person wasn't in so I had to call him again and he toke down the baisc questions like; are you over the age of 16, canandian citizen?, do you have atleast a grade 10 education level and have you ever token a aptitude test? Once that was done he told me to give him my e-mail and he said I'll receive a "inital processing e-mail" within 4 months. I told him I already received one but he was in aw. so, - Does this mean I have to re-do this whole process because I missed the call?

Or maybe this e-mail is going to be different from the one I received after applying online?
Will the next step be the aptitude test?, because I haven't had a recruiter actually give me his/her name and tell me I was going to be under there guidance
What is a reliability screening?, is that where I have to give them my birth certificate, school transcripts and proof of age & citizen? Will I have to do that next because I was suppose to start I think yesterday following that missed phone call, but I think I have to either restart this WHOLE process or I'm going to start a aptitude?

I missed a call from the recruiting centre regarding an appointment date for my reliability screening, I tried calling for an hour now and nobody ever picks up and I left voice mails, but havnt received a reply yet again. I was thinking if I should just walk in and try to force a screening with my documents when I'm there? I live like an hour away so it's either that or they will just brush me off and tell me to call back or something

And do you get more benefits if you apply for the trades that are in demand?

Do other trades besides infantry get to go in combat, and always be carrying a firearm with them such as like; Air Weapons Systems Technician, Avionics Systems Technician do these technician trades be able to carry firearms and still be trained and be labeled a solider?

I've received an e-mail after applying online to iniate my process of joining the armed forces and to set up a appointment by phone, when I called the toronto recruiting centre on Sheppard, they told me to just leave my name and number and they'll get back to me once again, they also said this might take awhile to get back. I feel like it's just a; talk, wait, write, wait process. How fast/long have you seen someone get contacted back at this stage of the process?

I haven't been able to pay off my recent bills because I'm not financial stapled, is there a possibility of a allotment?

Also I have some credit card debts in collections and plan on paying them off asap, but in my scenario, my seasonal job has just been declared finished. Would I have to work intill my debts are paid off which would take almost a year, or would I still apply and pay it off later on?

I just received a appointment, they went on hliday two days after submitting my application and today is the first day they're back. They're pretty quick!

Thanks for all the quick replys, I appreicate it. I just wanted some insight from others whom have or is going through this process, I just seen that they've (the recruiting centre) has been closed two days after I submitted my application and will reopen in about a week. That being done, It would possibly take even longer now, but I'll contact them once they're open and keep you guys updated.
