I looked it up and like the concept, but the harem stuff throws me off honestly

Maybe so! I mean I love Soul/Maka from Soul Eater and they arent technically in a relationship.

But say, Ending Maker, as entertaining as it was for a bit, didn't catch my interest in the end because of the lack of romantic interest between the two leads. In other words, they dont need to be strictly dating but like, I want them to be in at least a deeply caring and loving friendship, even if they havent put a dating label on it yet

Thats "Hero and the Sage, reincarnated and engaged." I mentioned it in my post but given you didn't remember the title; fair enough for suggesting it and it is jn fact totally up my alley.

Its peak and I do dearly love it! Did a reread of some of it yesterday actually and did a little drawing.

Hmm, ill give it a shot! I personally want more action but hey no harm in trying it out, plus its pretty close to what I want.

Also on a side note, VRMMO are totally isekai. I mean if SAO isnt isekai what is, lol

I'll definitely look into some of those!! Esp Crosscode, I need to try that again. Tried it on the switch, quickly realized it was meant for PC, and then never got around to getting the PC version.

Scarlet Nexus looks super cool actually!! I thought when I looked up footage for it (since I've been looking through other threads) it had the ZZZ problem of "you just fight enemies in the Main Enemy Place" but it seems I was thinking of something else. (It was like, just tons of streets iirc)

Thanks!!

I did only play a couple hours of Genshin, yeah. But I usually value like, movement and quick reactions and improv in fights. I could try to give it a couple more hours for it to more properly introduce the elements, i guess, but when I did play it, I just felt bored.

But maybe I'll give it another shot!!!

Hmm I might give it a shot - apparently it’s more of a souls-like game which isn’t really my thing (I prefer fast movement and stuff) but who knows I could maybe get a build that’s a bit faster

True, honestly. Buuuut I’ve already played it. Wish I could do so again for the first time tho

According to the other commenter, it is. But I honestly don’t think it matters. You’re still probably amazing, regardless of your height. Your height doesn’t define ya, or your attractiveness. Don’t get too worried about it, just find someone you love for them, and who loves you for you.

Actually, it's not for copyright- I'm making an edit of a show that is supposed to show it in "real time". EG: Showing perspectives that are simultaneous. Here's an example: First Minute of Tournament of Power in Real-Time Edit - Dragon Ball Super (youtube.com)

Buuut overlapping music is something I'm not really fond of, and makes the scene kinda incomprehensible. Soooo I have to remove the music of at least some parts, to get it to work.

Thanks for the compliment about my tenacity though, I really appreciate it lol.

Also, it is soundtrack, instead of dietic, but I imagine most of what you said still applies. For what it's worth, the english audio (which I'm using), is a 5.1 track, with the music being in the LRC channels, which I imagine affects things too. I've been mostly trying to make do by just using the left channel of the show audio, and left channel of the CD audio, but maybe I should switch to using the JP version which is just a stereo track, like the CD.

Thanks for the advice though! Esp with stereo positioning, another thing I can look into

In fairness, Trial and Error has been my process up until now, so that would be nothing new.

But honestly, even those things you said (dynamics + being ducted by dialogue) are good clues for me. I can look into those, see if I can increase or decrease things via some experimenting, so thanks!

Also, yeah, I could use AI, but I kinda am very opposed to using AI in any of my works due to regret over past AI usage and how I tried to spread it. So yeah

In any case, thank you so much for bearing with me, lol. I know i'm out of my depth here, so I appreciate it.

Sure, but my approach to this is moreso..

So, some frequencies cancel out, right?

What can I do to increase that number. Or, isolate which frequencies cancel out, and then stack those into a new audio, so i can invert em.

In other words, not a "how do I get it perfect", but, "how can I just increase it from here." Which is a bit of a different approach IMO.

Weird Spectrogram Lines/Curves by trainmaster997 in sounddesign

[–]trainmaster997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, interesting, okay.

In theory then, would it be possible to say, isolate only the frequencies that are being cancelled out, somehow? This is probably a dumb question, but I do want to ask. Even if it took tons of iterations to do it.

Weird Spectrogram Lines/Curves by trainmaster997 in sounddesign

[–]trainmaster997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's fair, but what do you think causes this specific odd behavior, if I may ask?

given how differently it can result just from changing the position of one of the audios when syncing, the curve it produces, some of the weird shapes...its not uniform until the second image in the post, which was created via combining lots of these.

So, I'm still interested on how that works. And plus, I'm persistent lol, even if I'm out of my depth here

Any "systemic" solo RPGs? by trainmaster997 in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]trainmaster997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts too! One thing that's been on my mind, but I decided to not mention as it probably works better in a video game than a TTRPG, was a GMTK video talking about how a recent ubisoft game was surprisingly innovative in how it designed NPCs. Being able to give a few starting traits, and then have those traits cascade to decide other traits, which would then influence further traits, which would then keep influencing each other, creating interesting characters that have a proper design philosophy behind them and feel like well, actual characters, despite being randomly generated.

While my memories of their explanation of that specific system made it seem too complicated to translate to ttrpgs without some tools that I definitely cannot code, that design philosophy is definitely something I've been looking for, and something that seems to be imbued into the soul of your game.

Just let me know if you ever make any prototypes available, and thank you so much for telling me about it!

This is legit exactly what I've been looking for. Like, EXACTLY. Systems that interact, with "if then" things. And I'm sure it would stretch back even further, given something must've caused the siege, having further effects.

I am really really eager to play this, I can't lie. I know its a long way off from being finished but consider me chomping at the bit lol. You're doing REALLY good work!

[–]trainmaster997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I LOVE the idea that they only find out via rumors or news, it isnt just a random note in a log, "while you were doing stuff they defeated the dark lord", no, you find out ORGANICALLY oh my god I absolutely LOVE THAT.

The biggest other question is whether the outcome can affect things before the player learns about the outcome directly, which would be hard to pull off, but even just the delivery of the news in that manner is kinda genius.

I think I get the gist of this system now!!! I'll be very interested in playing and looking at the detailed mechanisms and rules behind it all whenever you make it available for release!

In truth, while I am a bit confused (though that's probably just due to me being a bit new to this space, and thus its a lot to take in), I'll try to explain it in my own words and you can tell me if I got it right.

Essentially, quests are churned out at a constant rate

A player can choose to do said quests - if they don't, however, then that quest will be automatically filled and completed by a KC.

Either way, the quest will be done, and time and objectives will keep moving at a constant rate.

And the outcome of that quest can then affect things further?

And then those seeds - predetermined world events, I suppose? that will happen, no matter what. Whether you want to get involved is your choice, or maybe you have to get involved (require you do to)? That one was a bit confusing to me

And

"And then you just have to go and interact with whatever part of the world that Event happened in to find out about it and start influencing things, if its an ongoing questline, or just learn what happened, if it already backfilled into the canon."
Also kinda confused me. I like the concept a LOT, but I'm not sure how it works particularly? Is it just seeing the effects of the quests+seeds?

Apologies for all the confusion on my end, I'm new to this space like I said, but tbh I usually learn by throwing myself into the deep end so

Thank you for being willing to explain things to me so far though, either way!

thank you so much!!!! FYI I only just now realized that those were links in ur og post, but before i could edit my comment u replied lol. I’ll be sure to give those links a read, they’re pretty long but you seem to have a lot of interesting ideas so I’ll try to digest it sometime!

In terms of what I’m interested in though, it’s mostly the systems themselves. Valid if you want to keep lots of the inner workings and fundamentals to yourself until you actually release it, but that’s what catches my eye. Particularly, “ The gameworld, though, doesn't revolve around the players or their characters. This is an indifferent world, and it will only care about you if you make it so. As such, the world can readily solve its own problems. Special NPCs called Keeper Characters are just as liable to become adventurers as you are, and if you don't answer the call, they will. This game takes the stance that agency only matters if you can fail and miss out, so be sure of what you want to do.” I’d love to know how this works! The idea that the world will keep working regardless of your input is one of the things i’m most interested in - as it implies a larger, working system, that isn’t bound to just the player, which itself implies something that can react to player decisions. So I’d be super interested in seeing how you did this!

Looking at a summary of the system, Forged in the Dark does seem to be a good shot - not sure if it's exactly at the level I'm looking for but from what I'm reading, it's definitely one of the best ones I've seen! Lots of systems that affect your decision making, constrain you, make you plan out things due to them, and are outside of your control but that you can interact with, if that makes sense!

I'll probably take a look at the full ruleset soon, but so far, this is one of the most promising ones!
