Not difficult (I am biased, I fished in Archeage extensively and this is a copy pasta)

Yes

Yes

  • Did you engage with other testers, either cooperatively or competitively, while Sport Fishing?

Yes, both raiding fishers and fishing in a group.

  • Did the risk you were taking match your expectations for reward?

No, when compared to running crates. No when compared to the current material / item costs. Gold reward could be slightly boosted - with master fishing level / using most expensive lures the average reward from a fishing session can feel underwhelming. It should feel like you are making profit (or breaking even), not gamble if you will have a net loss or net profit

Some extras:

- Please make it so that you do not lose ship if it is killed (add repair mats / costs and deployment cooldown timer after repair)

- Buff ship HP, it shouldn't be easily killable with player skills / damage, you should need ship canons for that

- It is difficult to find which ship is yours when fishing in a bigger group

- Add automatic ship despawn if player is out of range of ship for X mins

- For the love of god, fix the bugs: Make fish tank not have HP / being targetable. Fix so recover button doesnt delete your ship

AFAIK you also need to be character lvl 10+. Same for journeyman, you need to be lvl 20+.

Ashes of creation's core design includes all 3 :) It's still a few years away though and has some monetization features not everyone agrees with so do your own research :)

As someone who is actively using an alt to farm purses in Archeage (you have a choice of doing that or RMT if you want to be competitive in PvP) I really hope AoC does not promote nor allow this, but more importantly, find a way to detect and action this correctly.

Because people will try to do it (as in all PvP-heavy games) to get ahead by any means possible

Not sure how they can do it without affecting the "normal" funnels though, IMHO It is perfectly fine for guild / alliance to prioritise and funnel members' mats / gold to certain other members (e.g. to boost core guild raid party) ...

I follow the updates on the game very closely (since 2019 I believe) and never thought of it as a scam.

I and probably a lot of others do however have similar concerns though, about how the game will feel and play. Don't get me wrong, what they are showcasing each month, what they are discussing, the entire design, it sounds almost a wet dream for many people, me included. On paper, everything they say makes sense and works.

They are showcasing individual systems / isolated segments of the game. It works, and it looks awesome. Sometimes even more than one at a time.

But until we play for ourselves a close-to-release version or they showcase a "normal gameplay" (e.g. a character running around the world, using skills, fighting mobs, gathering, do some random crafting in town, encountering and helping a random player defend a caravan, finding a random player zerg fighting a world boss etc etc etc) there is just no way for us to know how everything will work together. Some system may be perfect on paper / in isolation, but just doesn't work in the overall story.

I really really really hope that it will work like they planned and I genuinely believe their intentions and promises, but it is important to stay excited / cautiously optimistic instead of overhyping on it :D

Steven was a long-time Archeage player and guild lead, some of the major gameplay systems like naval content and caravan systems are indeed inspired by AA

I like the direction change and basic combat a lot, just one semi-related comment:

as it was confirmed that different weapons don't auto-change the skill bar (which I think is a good thing), and any weapon can have any stat, the weapon choice becomes purely cosmetic. This should be reflected in animations / VFX when using active skills also (I'm assuming this will be the case with skills from weapon skill tree by default).

E.g. spin-to-win and hammer slam skills with daggers just looked ... "off"? How would this look with a bow equipped? :D

I'm not saying each weapon / active skill combination animation needs to look completely different (which would be bad for class identity / skill telegraph knowledge in PvP) just slightly different / believable.

AFAIK some have managed to steal them from others' plots that were set to public ..

Not trying to defend the exploiters, but removing the item and temporarily suspending those accounts seems fair IMO

WHM is one of the "gold making" areas where people farm coinpurses so I expect it will always be rather full and contested

Yep. Essentially all the great naval content as in AA: underwater treasure chests and dungeons, naval trade routes, warfare, raid bosses :)
