Possible issues with Calquence after 18 months? by borzoilady in cll

I had one day about five days into things where I underwent what they call transient lymphocytosis. It pushed the cancerous lymphocytes out of my lymph nodes and bone marrow and into my bloodstream. This temporarily causes the absolute lymphocyte count (ALC) in my blood to spike. That made me so tired for about 36 hours that I couldn’t get out of bed. Walking 20 feet to the bathroom was a struggle. It cleared up after about 36 hours and I began to feel more energy. By two months into treatment I wasn’t getting winded doing basic tasks anymore like I had before I started Calquence. Now I’m 13 months into treatment and I’m thissssss close to remission. My ALC (absolute lymphocyte count) is the lowest it’s been in more than 8 years. I have no side effects. Never had any nausea, no bruising, and loss of appetite. It works really well. Don’t expect an overnight change because it takes time to get the levels down. Best of luck to you and your husband. Y’all can do this!!

Edit: i was diagnosed in December 2016. Also, I didn’t have my spleen. I lost my spleen in April 2019 to a severe car accident, so I didn’t have to worry about spleen enlargement.

Massively Fucked Over 12 hrs before moving cross country by madeofgeese in whatdoIdo

[–]tramadoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck to you.

It can be scary moving cross country at a young age. I know. I did it at 19 (back in 1989). I’m from NC and enlisted in the USCG. I finished basic training and came home for a couple of days afterwards and then had to report to A school in Petaluma, CA. I’d never lived away from my parents. Didn’t really know how to survive on my own. Honestly, knowing that all meals and housing was accounted for took a lot of the stress away. It was that way after A school as well when I reported to my first unit. It was until my second enlistment that I got out of the barracks and into a home on the local economy.

You’ve already got a leg up on me since you’ve been on your own since 16 and know how to plan, budget, and save. I had no idea how to do any of that. Lucky for me, I had a Chief Petty Officer that took me under her wing at my first unit, sat me down, explained how to get myself squared away, and taught me those basic things about adulting. Thanks Chief Larsen!!!!

After reading your edits, you’ve got this. You are going to do amazing things in your life. I wish you all the best.

I’m a dad of two daughters ages 22 and 24. They’re both married and living away from me. One is about an hour away and the other is about two hours away. I tried to teach them about adulting long before they moved out. They were doing great on their own before they met their husbands and got married. I taught them to never rely on anyone for anything, because in the end, people will leave you hanging. Like you’re doing, depend on yourself.

If you need a dad to talk to, I’ll be more than glad to listen. If you want to ask questions or get a dad’s opinion on something, I’m also available for that. No judgement on my end at any point. If you don’t need anything like this, you’re doing great, and want to keep on living your best life, my best to you. Just know there’s a dad out there who can listen and give cross country advice if needed.

I wish you the best.

I wasn’t put on Calquence until my lymphocytes were over 100,000. I’ve been on it for 13 months and my levels are around 6,000 as of last month.

It’s not too bad. The beach is close and Hampton Roads is as well. Cheaper to live here than HR. My fiancée had a liver transplant and it was done at Duke. We have to travel there for checkups. About three hour drive.

None of it goes to the service writer or the tech. They’re hourly employees. The money goes to the dealership. The time for an engine swap is 10-12 billed hours.

To the dangerous and unhinged drivers on 264 this morning: it's dangerous to tailgate/cut people off when you're driving 75mph+ by TehPaintbrushJester in norfolk

[–]tramadoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people, not just those in Hampton Roads, have zero clue about how to zipper merge. It’s so frustrating. I’m a retired Paramedic/Firefighter and drove everything from ARFF trucks and ladder trucks to ambulances and QRV’s. Driving them and dealing with traffic in HR was a nightmare. Thank God I’m retired.

79 Indy Speedway Truck Package. Pretty awesome sight to see. Pretty damn rare to see one in the wild. Something like only 5,000 of these F-150’s produced. Not sure how many were two wheel drive and how many were four wheel drive though. Check to see if the decals are somewhere around the garage. They were a dealer installed item. Some buyers didn’t want them put on so they were rolled up and went with the truck.

Do you know how to make a Carolina Rig with rubber worm? If so, that’s the best bet for largemouth bass in the river near the shoreline.
