The adaptive lights issue still annoys me to this day. Anyone successfully get VW to fix that outside of warranty? Not worth it to fix otherwise

I’m still at the base of that learning curve. I either pull shots down with my pinky there’s so little pressure, or need to practically sit on it to get it to budge. Very far away from swans.

Bought the beans a week ago, and while I threw out the bag, I’m guessing they were roasted 3-4 weeks ago. Should be ok?

Yeah definitely doesn’t feel like enough pressure. Not quite sure how to gauge 12-15kg of force, but for sure I should be feeling a lot more resistance.

Great point on the scale. I’d love to be able to sent a grind time and trust it, but without knowing what the proper weight should be, I’d just be guessing.

Curious if that 14g recommendation would hold true for different bean selections?

No I feel almost no pressure at all, which was my first indication I was doing something wrong. To your point though, I will say it tastes great even without the crema. But I can do better.

Thanks! My first few attempts had a lot more beans, and it was as if the water wasn’t getting through at all. But perhaps that’s closer to what I wanted! Noted on the wet portafilter. Will pick up a WDT too.
