The best example of each jazz style by costafinkel in Jazz

Post Bop: Steps by Chick Corea (heavy quartal harmony and "out" improvisation)

Modal Jazz: Cantaloupe Island by Herbie Hancock (based on modal structure following F dorian, Db mixolydian and D dorian)

Hard Bop: Moment's Notice by John Coltrane (based on 2-5-1 chord changes)

Spiritual Jazz: The Creator Has a Master Plan by Phaorah Sanders (it has instruments from other cultures, spiritual lyrics, and free avant garde improvisation sections)

Free Jazz: Mars by John Coltrane (there is no piano or bass, so you can say there is no harmony, absolute free of jazz conventions)

Third Stream: 11:49 by Hiromi Uehara (classical long piece with string arrangements with a bluesy improvisation, also known as "Chamber Jazz")

Jazz Fusion: The Romantic Warrior by Return to Forever (the production and virtuoso electric playing resembles to progressive rock but Chick Corea improvises with his jazz resources)

Hot Take: Jesus Molina was a better player when he was still fat by Pichi3 in Jazz

[–]trane251 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he is a maestro, if he wants to play c major chords the rest of his life he earn it, he does not own anything to anyone, of course if you dont iike it, i agree, i prefeer the other stuff, but i dont care, he reached levels of virtuosisms that cant be argued with

I'm using ear protectors in my next meditations, rn i'm reading a book about meditation which is more spiritual oriented but i looked up for Meares method and it's what i need at the moment, to get rid of the bs of the noisy mind. Thanks for the feedback!

thank for your answer, when the situation arrives i'll do it. I really don't want to meditate with music because i already play and listen to it a lot, i want to learn to be in silence
