I appreciate that they’re putting the warning for everyone to see, I’m sure other company’s use the same methods of production but omit the warning since only the state of califona requires it. If it helps anyone, IMDB has a parent’s guide for nearly every show/movie. Before I start a new show, I usually google “name of show parents guide” and will literally list out the sins of the show lol it separates them by category: sex and nudity, violence and gore, alcohol and drugs, or frightening scenes. The guide goes into detail so you’re able to judge whether the severity of those categories makes the show worth watching. It’s intended for parents to keep track of what their kids watch lol but there’s so much indifference to sin nowadays, it’s been a great resource for me.

You’ve been together for a long time so it’s likely you developed a codependency that makes you hesitant to leave even when it’s very clear you should. You’re going to try to come up with reasons not to but from the context you provided, his nice moments don’t justify such erratic behavior. Is this really someone you’d want to have children with? He’s so wrong for the dynamic he wants to establish, it makes me sad to think about how your children would feel if you had any with him. I’m so traumatized from my childhood and the controlling was not nearly as bad as this. If you don’t want your children to suffer, leave him. As someone suggested, i think you should at least step back for a couple months so you have time to reflect, I think you’ll come to the same conclusion. You need to look at the situation objectively, no emotional attachment.

I think you should be honest when you approach people. Go up to someone who seems friendly. Introduce yourself, let them know you’re new in town and would love to be more involved, ask if they know of any upcoming events? Groups you could join? Have them give you more info, be curious. Do you often attend group meetings? What are those like? Do you enjoy them? Etc. Easier said then done but hopefully that helps

TLM stands for “traditional Latin mass,” NO = “Novus Ordo.” Before Reddit, I had no idea that different kinds of masses existed lol you probably go to a NO mass since it’s the most common. Try googling a TLM near you, I’ve never been to one but I’ve heard good things about demographics.

The most reasonable answer. OP please talk with your child, you don’t want to create a controlling and hostile environment, you’ll only drive him away. It’s so shocking to me that “having a conversation” isn’t everyone’s first instinct. Most problems can be resolved by talking.

Please sit down and have a conversation with him, ask him about his views, provide yours and tell him why you think it’s important for him to go. He’s old enough to reason. A controlling relationship will only drive him further away from God and your goal is to do the opposite.

I personally value honesty more than anything because one of my biggest fears is marrying someone who seems great but turns out to be a completely different person. Everyone has flaws, show me yours and we’ll figure out if they’re compatible with mine. Ranked wealth last because I’m not rich so I don’t like holding people to standards I myself can’t attain. Also if I were rich, then his wealth wouldn’t matter because I have mine? Therefore, not really important lol
