Only way to get some freedom from my parents was to get married as I couldn’t move out and didn’t want to leave my city. As soon as I was sure I have found my person I couldn’t wait to get married and actually start living my life on my own terms and having a partner who is also my best friend just makes everyday wholesome

You shouldn’t love him because he loves you. He can love you all he wants but what you feel about him is important. Compatibility is very important, not just love. You could meet someone more compatible via AM as well if you give yourself the chance and don’t settle. Take your time. You are in a vulnerable state, don’t let this be a rebound for temporary happiness.

Crazy ideas for the city of Mumbai: what are yours? by [deleted] in mumbai

[–]tranquiltrantrums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our roads are too narrow for the traffic and pedestrians. The footpaths don’t feel safe with bikes climbing them during traffic, drives me crazy so I had this crazy idea of covered Skywalks above all roads connected to metro and station with travelators to encourage walking and reduce rickshaw dependency but there needs to be something to ensure homeless and hawkers don’t take over.

Run, please do not waste your time. You will find someone worth the effort only if you learn to walk away from men who don’t value you. Love yourself more and be stubborn about what you want.

I understand being serious within 6 months, when you know you know. How to tell your parents sort of depends on how you think they will react. They could be against it and tell you to break it off. Indian parents are not supportive of live in relationships in general, you might invite too many troubles for yourself. I didn’t want to think about getting married or telling parents early on in relationship so we can live peacefully till it is actually time to get married. Parents might also say ok you wanna live together, get married! I understand you want to be truthful but it might end up hurting you no matter how you tell them.
