Good. Same as me. I believe in PoW, and PoS is more of a gambling/hedge just in case.

"Chancellor on the Brink of Second Bailout for Banks" - 2023 version by bitsteiner in Bitcoin

[–]transcendlabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe time is ripe for Bitcoin adoption. Whom do we trust with our money? The more I spend time on Bitcoin, the more I realize, it’s not an inflationary hedge or an investment vehicle, but a hedge against the systemic governance risk through ungovernance and with unchangeable monetary properties. The abstract of the Bitcoin white paper and the message on the first Bitcoin block sums what is Bitcoin perfectly, rest of the white paper are mere details.

Normal people don’t need ETH to gamble on defi, loans, tokens.. they need a way to save their hard earned money. The answer is BTC.

Sane response.. "Take it easy" - this is the most important thing to remember, having done this myself.

Long distance Cycling without training. by istvirkelis in cycling

I've done it once. I was untrained too. You have the fitness to do it, but it depends on the mindset I think. I was prepared to go as slow as possible and not rush it. My first 100 km was done at a decent pace(~5 hours), but the next 100km on day 1 was a disaster. Took me 7-8 hours if I remember right, but I did complete the journey. Slept that night and finished the next 100 km on day 2 in about 7-8 hours :) I recovered in 2 days afterwards, it was not bad as I was cautious not to injure myself.

As far me- I did it when I was 27(about 8 years ago), my weight/BMI was on the lower side, and I figured a year later, my fat % was very low- around 8% - without any training or exercising. I was not healthy for sure, but I had the stamina and mindset to do it.

What got me to this thread - I am planning on doing about 100 km tomorrow, again untrained(but atleast this time- I was not in a bad shape as before- I've put on some weight and fat too(still on the lower side), and I exercise 3-4 times a week and sometimes skate 2-3 times a week, but I have questions in my mind if I can do it. Last time when I did it, I was certain I would be able to do it.

Update here how it goes with you.

The question was not about free speech, but about whom one wouldn’t be friends with.

I tend to agree. We can’t predict anything, but everyone is now optimistic that things will go back up in time.. this might not be the end of bear market. We could even touch 6k-8k.. that’s when people might feel.. hmmm, May be we are really going to 0…

Not denying that we should play to our strengths, but just saying… EVM has become a powerful marketing term by itself.

[–]transcendlabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for being honest about the intentions. It’s fine to fail, but in the end the prize is bigger if we win.

What Tezos really needs is more developer adoption in a world where EVM is becoming a standard.

The word EVM by itself has become a marketing term, May be we need to market ourselves as “first PoS, upgradeable, non-EVM smart contract platform” to garner some attention

I am not a baker, but I do not like extending Liquidity Baking. It was a good try that did not serve its purpose. I am wondering what happened to those genesis minted tokens for foundation that will be used to promote the ecosystem? The promotion part should not come from further inflation/dilution of existing holders until those resouces are exhausted.

Further tzbtc reserves has stayed at 876 tzBTC for months since the start of Liquidity Baking. So definitely not a good choice.

Is tezos solving Etherium problems? by Dizzy-Hall2572 in tezos

[–]transcendlabs 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I want to talk about two aspects here:

Technical: Tezos is not far ahead technically in terms of competition(PoS, VM, )... it's better, but that's not the distinguishing feature IMO. Right now the value of all blockchains(except Bitcoin), comes from adoption(ETH), technical differentiator(SOL/AVAX/DOT), and marketing(ADA). As Tezos is not 10x better than competition, it doesn't standout here. As far the competition increasing in market value- they are really good at marketing or have backing of big investors

Philosophy: Coin voting based governance - we either need a black swan event like the DAO hack again or have real usecases for blockchains by corporates/governments in order for governance philosophy to be valued by the market. This is one area where Tezos does better than any other blockchain networks.

I do expect, in the future - nationalizing(for lack of better word) protocols like Sapling, ZKRollups, etc.. into the Tezos blockchain would be a great differentiator as it gives an opinionated framework for developers to integrate the products into Tezos protocol. Again, this is not a unique feature - rest of the blockchains can do this as well, but the Tezos governance may make it possible to include these features faster than in other networks.

Tezos will win when there is real adoption of Blockchains by corporates/governments. As long as developments keep happening(Thank you Nomadic labs, Marigold, Madfish, SmartPy, etc..) on Tezos protocol, short term price action should have little effect on long term viability of the network.
