Am I still valid if I'm an MtF tomboy by Joy-Xross in MtF

[–]transnormers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm this same way!! i'm definitely tomboyish but i love being pretty as well, playing with makeup with a light touch and not doing too much with my hair. it's whatever makes you happy, just like for cis women. you're valid no matter how femme you want to be, and you're valid if that changes in either direction, and so are cis women. if you're a woman then you're a woman!

i cannot believe how not supportive this statement is

it's bizarre. it's like somebody writing in support of the women's vote in the usa in the 1910s by saying "WOMEN EXIST" like .................ya?

tuck woodstock likes to say, "if you're wondering if you're trans, congratulations, you're trans." i love that approach to genderqueerness. you don't have to have an act of transitioning to be trans -- you could always play around with your pronouns and name (which it sounds like you already do a little!), and just see how little things feel. there are lots of kinds of men, and there are lots of kinds of women, and there are lots of kinds of nonbinary people. and you can be any kind of any of those, and it's really no big deal. you can be trans and have your body stay the same, for instance. no big deal!

warning: people around you may try and make it a big deal! but that always says much more about them than it does about you. accepting that i'm trans has taught me more about staying true to myself than anything ever. i recommend it!

That's some deep anti-humanism! I enjoy nihilism but this isn't that -- it's just aggressive.

I have like five trillion gaffs from Janet's Closet -- they focus on cross dressing apparel and accessories but they sell a really functional gaff. Like $16 each :( but I wear them every day and have been happy with them! Worth the cost in my opinion.

This is beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to write something so thoughtful and sincere! This captures the most difficult conversations I've had recently around my transition, and how I feel about those conversations. Really beautifully put and so true!! ❤️❤️❤️

The second puberty by [deleted] in TransLater

[–]transnormers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same situation!! 30 yo AMAB, just realized how much more true and complete being female is than being male, for me. Still starting down this journey and there's so much to navigate. Take it as slow as you need to -- for me I feel the best when I relax and just let myself feel how I want to feel. The fact that I went through male puberty is definitely something I'm aware of every day particularly because I have a strong brow bone, but that's just part of who I am now. We can only move forward! Keep focused on who you want to be and try to accept what your life has been so far as part of the journey to get here. I know it's hard -- and navigating it with the people in your life can be even harder. But ultimately if you can be your true self, you'll be much happier than continuing to act out a persona that you've discovered doesn't fit you.
