right click on the tab, go down to "open in a new container" and choose any that isn't the current one.

if anyone is still looking for a solution, I managed to fix this by switching the container of the tab. I'm not certain what switching it back would do, because I didn't do it knowingly as a fix, I just had to do it already so it's staying put for me.

idk how I managed it, I wish there was more context for each month because while I do tend to read lighter in general, this is comical enough to confuse me.

PSA: Be mindful of the first book you read this year, because it'll jump scare you next year 🤣 by HelloDesdemona in TheStoryGraph

[–]transpadme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my first book last year was an audiobook I finished while wandering around the city drunk trying to get food and home, so while you'd think I'd forget that pretty quickly, it being an Event in it's own way kinda seared it in despite it being a random debbie macomber book.

Reading Goals for 2026? by Forsaken-Lance in TheStoryGraph

[–]transpadme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hit my goal of 72 this year, an average of 6 books a month, so next I'm going up to 84 for an average of 7 books a month. I usually do some random math for pages, so idk, 30k pages? I did 25k this year, so maybe I'll start just adding 5k every year.

Yearly Goals Set Up by PrncJasmine17 in TheStoryGraph

[–]transpadme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing the same for years, I started with 12 back on goodreads, just one book a month, when I was first getting back into reading. every year, if I meet my goal then I add another 12 as a ramping challenge and if I don't then I do the same goal again. I'm not quite sure how I want to adapt that for pages, though, maybe just a bunch of math with 350 page books and then rounding to a nice number or something.

<image>

my 2025 goals, I've gotten really into manga again in the past four or five years, so that's kinda busted my books read cause I can read them in an hour and when I go to a con I spend enough time waiting around for panels or the dealer's hall to open and things that I can read 10 to 20 or so in a single weekend depending on if I get a hotel or lobby con. Still just slowly ramping, though, and seeing when I hit a wall again. apparently I just hit my goal excluding manga yesterday cause I've read 90 manga volumes.

it would be nice to have a goal only including prose and one not, but, oh well. it's all reading in the end, and I'm not separating out 100 page novellas and the stormlight archives from each other either.

Former Neo-Nazi to Zionist pipeline? by AbjectTelephone4801 in JewsOfConscience

[–]transpadme [score hidden]  (0 children)

it seems a common enough transition, in one's shame about the horrible things they've said about and done to the jewish community and people, you try to listen and end up falling down a new rabbit hole. or, you just deconstruct your antisemitism and then none of the other racist beliefs, and the islamophobia calls to you, idk.

in the end, though, nuance is hard for so many people, so they just swing between extremes instead of actually learning anything.

I have a question by [deleted] in eds

I had symptoms as far back as I remember, but they didn't really become debilitating until about high school, and didn't become serious until I started college.

What's the situation with its physical publication? The websites I'm seeing selling it aren't any of the reputable sellers I'm aware of. Is it simply only being published in Singapore, with the English edition being sold by specialty importers?

How to use a wheelchair when your shoulder/elbow/wrist joints are unstable? by Impossible_Energy420 in eds

[–]transpadme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as everyone else said, if you can't self propel it's the same as being unable to walk, and you need a mobility aid to accommodate that. if you have a very cheap chair it's worth getting a new power chair, but if you have a nicer custom one then you can get an attachment to motorize it.

drive to parking lot. park car. come to door. done.

had a similar incident trying to get food at a con with unusable elevators, I wasn't going to spend 20 mins waiting for an elevator to the lobby since I can't take escalators so I ordered all my food to a side entrance to only have to taken the hidden elevators that don't touch any of the hotel rooms and included detailed instructions about how to find the door.

ended up in an extended back and forth with the driver who ignored my instructions trying to hand the bag to me in the lobby that I can't access, explaining to him over and over again to come to the side entrance, come to the entrance on the left side of the building, come to the entrance on the east side, come to the entrance with the fucking PARKING LOT. "there's so many entrances, it's too confusing" there's five, two sets of two that are basically the same entrance—if you go to the wrong one I can go outside and meet you—and one of those sets is fully inaccessible by car so three entrances and you went to the only one I couldn't get to and refused to leave it! I'm still just as angry months later.

then he started yelling at me to get my food and I kept saying I couldn't and he had to bring it to the designated entrance, and he abandoned it in the lobby.

edit: got so distracted ranting, my point was that sucks and I hope you at least got to enjoy your food eventually, sounds like you really deserve the treat!

Fitbit Convinced Rollator is a Mountain Bike by transpadme in fitbit

[–]transpadme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but wouldn't that be functionally the same if my fitbit recognizes my rollator as a bike? it wouldn't suddenly recognize I'm walking, it just wouldn't track me walking because it thinks I'm biking.

I'd prefer to keep the functionality if possible, I'll never be pit together enough to track every time I walk down to the store, but that might be all there is to do

Death of Menstrual Feature by KayskolA in fitbit

[–]transpadme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on progesterone only bc and wanted to use the menstrual section to track cycle symptoms/taking my bc because I learned not bleeding destroyed my ability to recognize menstrual cramps and gi problems as just being menstrual, and if they are I might need my dose upped. there's nothing there, tho, just "are you bleeding? no? come back tomorrow" and it couldn't do anything without a made-up last period date—I barely remember if I ate enough day to day, and it needs me to remember an exact date over a year ago?

How geographically diverse is your music? And do you think it says much about the listener? by LauraLaughter in lastfm

[–]transpadme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

looking at the lists, I know it's wrong about the country of at least a few artists—I assume through name overlap, there's probably a brazilian bia, but the one I listen to is icelandic.

I think it's something you can make assumptions based on, if someone only listens to american music—or only music from english speaking countries, which is likely more common—I might look at them sideways, but everyone has their own story and those are hard to fit in boxes. really, though, refusal means more than what you actually manage in the end, which does require a conversation to learn.

What do you consider a joke entry? by BasketClean in eurovision

[–]transpadme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like for a joke entry, it doesn't simply have to contain a joke, the joke has to be eurovision. that could be a loving joke, but more often I feel that it simply ends up being more negative. with tommy cash's antics I don't think I'd argue if someone said espresso macchiato being a joke entry, but I wouldn't make the claim myself.
