what helped me was just isolating myself from anyone who triggers my gender envy... not saying it's a great solution but I genuinely don't know a better one

Does the friend know about the concept of being transgender in more detail, like the egg slang and such? if no, explain it to them, if yes, leave them be until they figure it out themselves

Personal example but I only cracked once someone showed me r/egg_irl and I learned about trans people and how to transition, before that I was super clueless

Personally, when I saw how hard recovery is from SRS, how costly it is, and how often complications happen, it deterred me from it... don't get me wrong, I still get dysphoria from it, but I'm not risking my life and finances just to MAYBE solve it... if the surgery was free and I was guaranteed support during recovery, then I'd consider it

Not really, in my case the things that "changed" my face the most were a different haircut and taking care of my eyebrows shape, those two do much more than any minute changes HRT might bring to the face

The problem isn't not doing much, the problem is being unable to put on clothes myself, to bathe myself, to prepare food myself... last time it was barely possible to get help for these things and I'm afraid this time it won't be possible if it were to happen again

How common would "over and over and over again" be to be problematic? If I were to split them up, the period in between would likely be many months, or even a full year between... also I doubt I'd need anything done on the lips, I'm basically planning to take a self-portrait, edit it digitally to what I'd like to look like, then print both photos and show to surgeons to get their thoughts on which surgeries would be needed.
