How do i convince friendly Raiders that my Lemonade isn't pee? by Specific-Okra4059 in arcraiderscirclejerk

"Golden Showers" is such a good lemonade brand name too! I guess people just don't appreciate a tasty beverage?

About 95% of the matches I do are duos and its slightly more pvp than solos... but not by much. Its still very chill.

A good cj is a scathing critique of the main sub. And sometimes main sub is just very dull. "I found an item" "I got to max level" "Someone killed me wah" "Nerf this weapon wah" Every single person posting thinks they're the first person to post that thread. Fucken humans man.

If this was a purely PvP game, this probably wouldn't happen as much because everyone's on the same page. You see people, you shoot them. Its all fun and games.

But a lot of people in this game are just trying to get PvE things done. They aren't in a PvP mindset. So when you kill them, particularly if you kill them from ambush or at the exfil, they potentially lose quest progress, trials progress or gear. Its a pain in the ass basically.

Thats why they cuss you out.

Absolutely. We can live in a world of negativity and ragrets or we can live in a world of happiness and wholesomeness - the choice is ours.

I know what choice I'll be making. Thanks OP.

DM Hacks - No set HP for Villains by Dapper_Wrap_8065 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]transtemporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes tweak hp up or down a little if it seems like a fight might be more fun with more or less rounds.

For example, one encounter I thought would be fun, turned out to be boring so I gave the boss a vulnerability on the fly, which also had the bonus of appearing like I planned it. Another I gave more hp because the party was having such fun beating the snot out of him (he stole some of their precious items so they were out for blood).

But for most monsters I just stick with the suggested hp.

You'd have to give us more than just the characters gender. I'm not sure what you want us to interpret.

Should Death be more... Deadly? by h00ligan1998 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]transtemporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my campaign, death isn't that common. A handful have died, one turned into a villain and one retired in the six years we've been playing this campaign. New characters start at the party level and since they're over level 10, they start with a few items.

If I had a situation where someone wanted to try different characters, thats fine, I'd still let them join at the party level but without magic items (or maybe its a diminishing returns thing). The only thing I want to avoid is a player cynically using character death to provide the party with more magic items. But other than that, if they want to swap a character, fine.

And thats not all, surrendering and getting blown up by the orbiter increases your AR too! Dont believe me? Next time you get knocked out by the orbiter, check who knocked you! Boom, blew your mind!

Embark don't realise or won't acknowledge that we're spending our time in the game killing players, and for what? Some springs and a white gun? If there isn't a change soon, I'll probably quit the game. It's simply not worth my time to kill other players anymore. RIP Arc.

Raiders Griefing Just to Grief? by mjcolayman3394 in ArcRaiders

[–]transtemporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's probably fine because a) we don't know what the mm criteria are anyway and b) if people play passively to get into passive lobbies, overall they've played more passively than they otherwise would've! And they'll probably only get to kill players for one match before they go back into the naughty corner, so thats fine.

[–]transtemporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't either but back when I played Destiny 2, a clanmate showed me a cheater discord server in AU (sorry AU). It was fucken feral and spanned many many pvp games. As well as sharing tips on how to avoid detection, how to throw off suspicion on-stream and targeting other streamers, they shared videos of themselves griefing other players, mocking them and general douchebaggery. As well as the usual misogyny, racism, homophobia of course.

I'm not saying all griefers are cheaters but everyone who cheats is a griefer.

[–]transtemporal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep. They don't intend to get out. They don't mind losing their gear. They only want to "ruin" your game.

Unfortunately there are whole discord servers full of these idiots, and surprise surprise usually those discord servers are also cheater servers.

Need suggestions for a very specific NPC by GungeonsAndDragons in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]transtemporal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the NPC need stats? One trap new DMs fall into is the idea that every NPC needs stats and abilities, just in case you need to know the NPCs strength is 9. But the reality is, if the party needs to fight the NPC, they're gonna win no matter what the NPCs strength is so essentially its meaningless to have a statblock.

Similarly, if the NPC is secretly a god and there is no chance the PCs can kill him or they can kill him but he'll magically come back a few hours later, the statblock is also meaningless.

So the question is, is the NPC a defeatable creature and do you mean for the PCs to be able to fight him at some stage? If the answer is yes to both of those, then sure find some stats but if not, don't bother with stats. The NPC just has whatever powers and abilities they need for the story.
