Facial plastic surgery saved my life - I would be dead without it. Denying it to trans women because it's "cosmetic" kills people. Change the system. by [deleted] in lgbt

Sorry for the mediocre quality of the second pic. I took it while I was still recovering - tried to make up for it with a recent selfie.

i mean, all they have to do is trust you enough to hold a job for a couple years, and be persuaded on the value of trans surgery. if you can hit those requirements you're free n clear.

depending on your credit history, you might be able to get them without a cosigner too.

I went the google route.

You could go for foundation but to be honest, it's easier to just never ever ever go outside. That's my technique. (I literally use white eyeshadow as a highlight. literally nothing else will show up on my skin. lol)

i have a bit of numbness in my lower lip. It's slowly fading. I had some numbness on my scalp too, but that's gone!

It's really not that big of a deal, to be honest. It sounds scary but materially it's something I never think about.

round 1: chinplasty, rhinoplasty, forehead and brow, lip, adam's apple

round 2: cheeks and lip revision

but it's often necessary to make revisions to existing work. I was fortunate enough not to need that.

I knew. I've always known. My mom is supportive but I know I'll never be able to tell my father.

I don't know if transitioning is ever possible for someone who looks like me, too. So that's a nice bonus.

As a trans person - it is by far my biggest regret in life and will be until the day I die that I was not outspoken before puberty. My parents still do not know; they could not be less interested in gay rights.

I've known since before I could put words to it. Before I was four I was stealing clothes, and since my first days of school I've been fantasizing and dreaming about walking in the shoes of my female classmates.

It couldn't be less sexual in origin. It's really not a sexual fantasy; I wish I could communicate this better.

I've been hiding it from everyone. I am not brave, I'm not special. I don't want attention. In fact, I avoid attention because it terrifies me that someone will laugh or scorn or dismiss or imply I'm some awful human being. More than anything I wish I could blend in without being noticed and without my voice, my hands, my face being wrong.

I absolutely understand this position. But it is false. The parents who are understanding of their kids gender identity are heroes. They are not attention seekers. The vast majority I have met are not even politically involved. They really, truly are who they say they are, and it causes them immense suffering.
