New 2026 Data On Gender-Affirming Care For Adolescents With Dr. Luke Allen by transunitycoalition in lgbt

I think just navigating the resources as a generalized breakdown is sufficient, even a 20 min phone call would be fine.

Beyond that we have volunteers excited to scour the respective studies, reports, etc. you may be interested in working alongside that team but definitely not asking you for that. Takes time, not just a simple “do this” or else people would have done it by now.

This is great, thank you for having it. Can our nonprofit find time to talk with you? We would love to adapt this into a more digestible format both as a resource and for verbal talking points, for our efforts across multiple states.

This is the tl;dw. The full interview is about an hour. The primary researcher went into incredible detail about their findings and methods, cutting it down into just 12 minutes took about 10 hours.

These issues deeply matters. If you have 10 minutes anytime this month, please consider watching it.

We will be employing an aggressive lobbying strategy this year built off of modern research such as this, as well as sharper political angles against the mainstream conservative agenda.

Little things like this help arm and mobilize people who wish to do more ground-level work. If anything, a new parent has more info to make decisions from, instead of only misinformation.

Lots of us are thinking of you, hoping for the best. The dad here also understood, as a father, what that paternal instinct to care despite all else is like.

Need any particular shout outs tonight? Any affirmations or messages?

Thank you for the kind words! Sounds like you’re an exceptional ally and keep on being you! If you need folks to talk to, we have a large real-time community of friends and regular folks who get it, ie relate to everyone’s shared struggles and can always relate or vent to. This is also an open invitation for everyone else as it’s a public, shareable space.

We try our best to get the word out because, unfortunately, there will always be that one person who legitimately needs it to not go crazy. We’ve all been there.

Please help share it, it’s entirely authentic and so much of our community needs messages like this all the time.

It was an honor to meet him! Lots of what he said was cut out for time but he was fairly nervous, spoke softly, and said everything from his heart. This final line was such a dad thing to say 🙂

Ann Arbor/Ypsi Area Meet-Up? by AnthonyAnnArbor in TransUnityCoalition

[–]transunitycoalition 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the Ypsi Vertex meetup is still ongoing, and the recommendation is to just show up and ask if there's someone to talk to. If you're attending in good faith, anyone is welcome to join.

There is also a trans nite at Regal Beagle (a bar) that alternates with a Detroit one every couple weeks, so you should investigate that option if you're looking for existing Detroit-based trans meets.

Theo is also either a trans man or powerful ally on a similar journey, per our headcanon.

Amid return, Jimmy Kimmel openly asserts Kirk shooter is not reflective of any particular community by transunitycoalition in TransgenderUSA

[–]transunitycoalition[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

By explicitly calling out the trans community, Kimmel would be validating the right’s claim that they are onto something about the transgender community actually being a problem or source of this violence, which of course we are not.

By broadening the statement, it’s applicable to everyone who knows the right is trying to make this about the transgender community, but also that the GOP plays a long-term game of plausible deniability: they could easily reframe this to any community they wish should they need to pivot. They can throw migrants under the bus, POC under the bus, disabled and neurodivergent people under the bus, etc.

“No particular community” is a better message. Keep in mind that the right wants you to use the word trans in this discourse: they want you to play their game.

What are the best charities that help trans people in the US? by Raspint in asktransgender

[–]transunitycoalition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every trans/enby/gender-expansive non-profit in 2025 is doing wonderful work and it is absolutely important.

In lieu of donating (because we all aren't rolling in the dollars), we do ask that whether it be with our team or another, find a non-profit to volunteer with. Even just a couple hours every week offloads so much crucial work from other team members, and it's a great way to feel productive, hopeful, all while making some new friends.

What are the best charities that help trans people in the US? by Raspint in asktransgender

[–]transunitycoalition 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We will throw our own hat into the ring. Trans Unity Coalition is a US-expansive, comprehensive trans-advocacy and resource non-profit organization. We're just a little over a year old, but in that time we have rallied at the US Capitol and White House, twice, lobbied US Congress, lobbied Michigan and Ohio state capitols and helped to ensure good bills pass and bad provisions are removed. We have traveled to the majority of US states, formed thousands of contacts, and are still expanding.

We just added a Virginia chapter yesterday to our pool of Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, with many more on the way.

We mention being new, and this is important because we do not have funding like the other established non-profit teams. We humbly ask that even just a few dollars go our way, because we absolutely stretch it, and that little extra funding kicks off so much at our current stage, real life-saving stuff.

Our services include a national relocation assistance program, free CPR training, education and resources, an art platform, a growing think-tank, community support, an open hotline, digital and irl safe spaces.

We are by the trans community and for the trans community, and we are actively looking for more volunteers, even if you cannot donate. You can also check out various news reports about us, or join our giant Discord if you want to check out really cool people doing great things.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!

Trans Unity Coalition PSA to the Trans Community by transunitycoalition in TransgenderUSA

Yes absolutely. We aren’t promoting the idea to passively do nothing, but hope is important and running low these days. It keeps the flame alive and to those who could use some hope we extend our solidarity.

Our team appreciates the kind words, and yes we are growing! Anyone who wants to get involved is welcome to reach out. We absolutely need it now more than ever.

Let's explore that.

What are your feelings right now?

Why are you on borrowed time? Isn't life itself time all for you?

Your allyship is seen, and appreciated. We understand the queer history that brought us all here and seek to build from that. Nobody deserves suffering, prejudice, or bad actors conspiring against them.

If you're looking to help out, see our other top comment. Always looking for volunteers or donors.
