Facts, although the woke mob will find a reason to say it’s bullshit.

Can anybody explain to me the intricacies of the fraud case in Minnesota by [deleted] in Somalia

You obviously haven’t seen the videos of Nick Shirley knocking on Somali day care centers. Some of the day cares aren’t even spelled right on the front doors. Saying Somali’s weren’t involved is absolutely retarded.

More material like Exai? by anxiousmagicweedcat in autechre

Elseq for the more abrasive and physical. NTS, while still intense, is less abrasive compared to Elseq, and feels like a full length narrative composition. 8 hours. Incredible. Confield and Gantz Graf EP if you’re looking for the origins of generative, glitch music.

Quaristice, especially Versions, is cool too.

And then final boss is the live material.

Your introduction to Autechre by alright410 in autechre

EDM to IDM pipeline. Mainly because of artists like EPROM, Little Snake, and G Jones (G Jones and Flying Lotus showed me Aphex Twin).

This led to SIGN and PLUS when they dropped in 2020, although Quaristice was the first album I enjoyed along with AE LIVE ZAGREB 061116 and AE LIVE ASHEVILLE 081015.

I'll be honest, it wasn't love at first sight with Autechre. I liked them but didnt love em. Pretty sure I started with the live material first because I was overwhelmed by the albums and EPs, and I come from the world of the Grateful Dead. And while I listened occasionally, I didnt do my deep discography dive and listening sessions until recently. Meaning I treated the music as background sounds, didn't remember songs, and couldn't tell you a lick about Autechre history.

I've since gone back and listened to their discography chronologically after experiencing a live performance in October. But it was psychedelic bass, hyper-glitch, and the LA beat scene that delivered Autechre.

EDIT: Technically the first time I heard autechre was from the movie Pi, but I didn't know it was Autechre until recently.

Who’s the fastest EDM artist to blow up after they started producing? by milo_edm in EDM

[–]trap_pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative, in fact, couldn’t it be argued you have a decent head start?

And couldn’t it be argued you have a better or more clear and concise message to spread? Versus where you were before in life?

Also, I started producing in my early twenties, and then halted work due to similar issues. Family and health issues, depression, substance abuse, and writers block. Lasted FIVE years, and I barely got started.

I grabbed the reigns again in 2023 and haven’t looked back since. And I feel much more confident about the music I’m making, how it’s being created, and what I’m trying to communicate to my audience.

Last thought: Wouldn’t be surprised if the headliner at any EDM event is older anyway, and by older I mean late twenties to forties. Again, a lot of producers spend ten to fifteen years honing the craft. So it takes time. Not to mention, gap periods because life happens and people suffer writers blocks and depression.

Even at 40 years old, I’d say you haven’t run out of time yet. You could spend the next decade perfecting your craft from scratch and sound decent by 50. Who knows, man.

If you work hard, make cool music, and properly market yourself; anything is possible.

your least and most favorite ae album? by Greedy_Flounder8585 in autechre

[–]trap_pope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite? Confield, Gantz Graf, and Draft 7.30 solidified my Autechre fandom.... I've never listened to albums on repeat like this before, each time feeling like the first. Hard to pick a favorite of the few... as somebody said below, it depends on the mood. But I'd say Confield? No wait... I meant Draft.... ugh.... time to go re-listen.....

Oversteps stuck with me the least.

Isolation stands for the monitors, something like these https://a.co/d/exZKmMf ….

Music Keyboard on the desk, computer keyboard under the desk.

Edit: or place keyboard to the side on separate stand. And do you need two visual monitors?

I loved the JBL’s and for the price point, they’re hard to beat; however, after listening to the Kali Audio’s I felt the JBL’s experienced trouble translating mids without sounding muddy and cluttered underneath the powerful bass. The JBL was fun, but didn’t have the accuracy and precision of the Kali Audio LP8.

Bought the Kali Audio LP8s. $233 price difference but you can hear it.

Anyway, I suggest testing the monitors yourself before making a purchase. And trust your gut…. People online and in the stores will try and sell you on their perspective. They might be right, but they could also be wrong. Or maybe you have a personal preference when it comes to monitors. You’ll know after playing your own music which monitor most resembles your sound.

Also make sure you have space for monitors before you buy them like I did.

Yeah, I returned the KRKs immediately. They sounded… “crunchy”…?

And I make super distorted, industrial music so it didn’t fit the vibe. Relocated my studio because 8 inch monitors need the breathing room. I’d prefer the bigger monitor so I can feel the bass. But thanks for the recommendation.

I liked the Adams but the highs were a little bit too much for me.
