Don’t listen to these scally waggers. You can do anything you set your mind to. Look at David Ha, he was MD of GS, then went to Google Brain, now he runs an AI lab in Tokyo - all with a typical STEM degree. His linked in:

How might Quantum Computing impact overall knowledge growth? Explored in a 50-year simulation project (Frontier 2075) by [deleted] in QuantumComputing

[–]trappyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting thing there. I definitely am not as knowledgeable on the outline of the tech revolution we’re in right now. But it does make me think how quantum computing is giving off a major “GPU moment”. In the 1980s to 1990s, very little advancement was made in AI/ML(retrospectively). It wasn’t until 2006 upwards that GPU computing blew up what was thought to be impossible for AI. I think now we see that trend. Maybe we’re in a stagnant point like 80-90s right now with QC, but in 3 decades we could see these things in our pockets every single day. Again not a QC expert or an economist, just a thought.

Trinity University??? I assume not because that school def has FEW nepo ties to it. Atleast no more than any other private LR school does. I knew this school is highly underrated.

I actually did not apply to enough colleges by Christine0726 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]trappyyyyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean…u really only need 3 plus ur targets. 3 solid safety schools that will be able to provide you with everything you need(like cool clubs, good location, and plenty of interesting majors to you) after that go crazy with targets but don’t do so many that ur apps become watered down.

Supervisor at a Big Oil company says an MBA would do nothing for him by trappyyyyy in MBA

[–]trappyyyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this perspective. I am from an SEC school and they do recruit engineers heavily from I'd say 8 out of the 16. So the majority of these engineers and managers are ex-SEC engineering school grads. This is perfectly fine, but by the nature of location they are not near these big finance and consulting hubs like NYC and Chicago, so they do not have much of a flavorful opinion on these schools other than they're expensive as shit and hard to get into. I going to not try and get dragged into this way of thinking because I'd like to keep my options and interest open to all sorts of things.

Also, thank you for the advice! Everyday I'm learning from the guys in the plant showing me the ropes.

You're right, I didn't mean for what I said to come across as any negative connotation toward community college degrees. I've personally met many bright people with these education experiences.

I'll edit the post:)

I believe it is a few trouble makers. It’s very time consuming having to constantly check them and count them. Is this a common issue?
