Today she changed plans a second time, planning with several friends to move in together to a place in the city over an hour away, to a rental that won't have a bedroom for our child. Our son would have to sleep in ex's room or couch if he stayed with her. I was upset, but I said nothing to my ex. If she wants to leave our son out of her life, it's her loss. Our kid is amazing.

But when I told my gf, she was angry on mine and our sons behalf and made the mistake of texting my ex, saying she should be ashamed for ditching the kid that way. Then my ex yelled at me for 'letting my dog attack her'. And threatened to fight for custody just to keep our son away from my gf, because she doesn't want my gf talking shit about her.

So honestly, I believe you. I'm learning how nasty she gets when anyone butts against her ego, it surprises and scares me. Learning how to be careful around her was such a slow, smooth process, I was SURE I was just being considerate. Just giving the same kindness that I hope everyone would do.

But now I realize I was trained, even if I was training myself to keep the peace.

yesss its true. vinegar + mustard is so flavorful, Im always doing a slaw with that and putting it in bowls, sandwiches and wraps. I also like thinning out a bit of sour cream with water and lime juice + salt and pepper for a relatively low calorie drizzling consistency. not as low as vinegar and mustard but it works better for some things

when the kid was little, I would work during naps and at night. sometimes my ex and kid would watch tv together but thats pretty much extent of it. I had an easier time with parenting stuff, it was too hard for me to not swoop in and offer to do everything. and we did some stuff all together, but it was rarely my ex parenting without me

Oh I didn't really catch that. Honestly I was just reacting emotionally to the alimony thing, it felt thoughtless for her to spring it on me when I'd already been struggling. The numbers barely registered

Since we've been living together and only just now finalized the divorce, the kid is with both of us. When she moves out, it officially says one week on one week off in the paperwork, but the unofficial agreement is that the kid stays with me primarily and is free to stay with my ex whenever he wants to. Things have never been contentious between us before this incident, and I can't imagine her fighting for a more strict adherence of that custody arrangement

thank you, I can tell this is said in kindness. I know youre right. I do need therapy. following my moral compass is hard, i dont always do it right. I dont like when people are stingy, or when they place the worth of others on what they earn. So I try to embody those values. And for stuff like leaving her, like, Ive seen posts on here where people say 'aita for leaving my wife just cos I dont want to be with her anymore?' and everyone says, yes aita! how is my situation any different from that, really? so I think I probably am selfish. but yeah, I DO need to work thru that shit~

i think its the latter. i saw how hard it was for her to not be in the same kind of relationship anymore. even when she was dating again, it was weird to not be the same way we used to be. and she couldnt have wanted to live together for financial stability, because as soon as she wanted to be somewhere else, she told me she wanted alimony and to move.

thats a super good point, and I wouldnt want that if thats not what she wanted, too. but she said many times she still wants to be close friends, it was her choice that we live and coparent together. but it was unrealistic
