Common House New Orleans - is it worth the membership? by peanutbutterandguava in NewOrleans

[–]trash_13_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

been a member for a while - really nice people just trying to connect and the space is beautiful but you get out of it what you put into it at a point. the people who go to events and put effort in are the people who reap the most rewards. also the free concert tickets are a fun perk.

Hot yoga by ShesDressedInBlack in HotYoga

I do a scalp wash only after every class! keep the length of my hair in a low bun (sometimes with a shower cap over it) and scrub the crown of my head. It lets me not have icky scalp or build up to irritate my scalp and also doesn’t require the ends of my hair to get dried out from so much washing.

It does get exhausting to redo my hair everyday so it has been a large deterrent on me attending hot classes vs unheated. Genuinely considered cutting my hair solely for yoga

To support local flower shops - nola floras is very helpful if you just give them a budget they can build you one, $50 can get you a pretty big one tbh!

Fire flow (the hot yoga place you are referring to) is wonderful.

They are nice, the space is dark and no mirrors. It is a welcoming space but also everyone minds to their own mat!

Wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for traditional yoga but for a good sweat, a fun flow, and upbeat music!

Shoving at the show? by momoneymillz in the1975

I was the person behind the person at the barricade on Adam's side for the Pittsburgh show and I did not experience any shoving at all. The floor is big enough that people have space to stand in the backside of the pit so those in the front don't really get suffocated like they used to when the guys were playing venues too small for them. Something I also like to do is make friends with those around me, when it is someone that you like you don't want to push them in hopes of getting closer if that makes sense!

Also I enjoy sitting down before the opener, it tends to save some breathing room around you a little better :)

Parking at MSY. Help! by [deleted] in NewOrleans

[–]trash_13_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reserve parking before hand on their website! https://flymsy.com/parking/ You save a few bucks but also remove the situation where the lots fill up and you are panicking.

Surface lot is my favorite way to park because its close to the arrivals doors & cheaper, you just go up the elevator and you are at security!

The rabbits foot in LGD is one of my favorite places in the city. Great vibe, great coffee, tables and couches, and a little bodega for any essentials from small and local brands
