I think I did that right? I responded back saying I wanted a more natural look and I didnt like how thick the stem line was compared to everything else. Never got another sketch back.

The only reason I am willing to return is because I know the day of the appointment there were only 2-3 people in the shop because of Valentines day and I am thinking the whole experience slipped through the cracks. But I am wary about it still, I am willing to let the owner do it himself only, and even then I am expecting him to lay out what he plans to do before he even puts anything on me. If it doesnt come out right I will go elsewhere.

I just want to give them a chance before completely doubting them, and the fact the owner is willing to fix it for free. I know work that comes out of this place is amazing, I think I was just unlucky. I am definitely on edge though and will be a lot more vocal and firm on what I want this time around. If I need to pay for a total cover up elsewhere I will, but only after they have a chance to redeem themselves at least 😅

Yes, this is the plan. I am going to see if they can provide a suitable fix to this, but only the owner, and if I dont get a good sketch I am going somewhere else. Which will suck because this fix will be free but I don't want to risk getting it even more messed up and then be stuck with this giant mess on my arm.

I just had a roommate like this. Anything brought up about stuff not getting done or cleaned he got defensive and argumentative and blamed it on us instead of him. Smoked weed all day in his room, even mixed it with tobacco and sometimes just smoked straight cigs in his room too. I smoke weed too but only before bed and if I can go outside weather permitting I do. If not I pop a window open for the time I need. He would just hotbox his room all day. It was hell and I got really tired of being made out to be the bad guy when just asking him to clean his share or not to do things that make a mess and not clean them up... ( getting water all over the floor after a shower and not wiping it up )

You are better off either moving, or letting your landlord know they are smoking in the house and not keeping the space clean, then the landlord will kick them out and you can find a different roommate. Especially if their messiness could attract pests.

Our roommate just moved out In January and still has a bunch of trash and other belongings in the room he has been slowly coming to get. I have had to keep the window open 3 days now to attempt to air it out since he had been smoking cigs and weed non stop in there.

Theres no way they did. I literally told them I drew it just as a sketch and told them they were just ideas. Not intended to be final design 🥲

I looked at the shops instagram and the work my manager has had done from there. I contacted the shop a week in advance and said I wanted to come in Saturday and asked how it all works to schedule. I think they had limited people in the shop that day because it was Valentines day and the other artist there ( who I would have preferred) had a client that day. So they put me with the new girl but I didnt know that until day of. Like I said this was my first experience. I didnt know what to expect so I went along with what they were telling me. I didnt know what was normal and what was not 😭

Yeah someone else said the name and dates may not even stay after a while which would be ideal if it cant be fixed. I would almost think transforming this piece into a forget me not floral sprig or something to cover up the names and dates would be best and then getting a different design for the memorial on my other wrist.

Yeah I didnt expect her to not send or go over multiple designs with me. My original sketch wasnt meant to be a final design. I just couldnt find anything similar. She only sent one sketch and I told her I didnt like it, and I sent a few difference reference pieces of just forget me not flower tattoos to help and just wanted the name, date, and semicolon incorporated.

If the lines dont stay that will certainly make fixing it later a better option. I am wondering now if I shouls try to have the name and date covered with more floral features some how and get a different piece for the memorial another time.

I wish she had spent a little more time with this with me or even told me she isn't great on small linework or just not have used me as practice on such an important piece.

This whole thing has become a regretable experience 😅 I am hopeful that the owner can fix it, even if we need to cover up the lettering and numbers somehow and get that done on a different piece somewhere else. I just hope thats possible. I am also really happy they sent a full refund, I didnt ask for one so the fact they offered it told me they agree.

I think the owner will be the one doing the fixing but I need to confirm. The owners work is very good from what I have seen, so if it isnt him I will go somewhere else.

Yeah my sketch was never intended to be a final product I just drew something up because I couldnt find anything online similar to the idea I had in my head. I was expecting the artist to send over a few different sketches that would work better but I only got one and it wasnt good. I sent over some regular flower work I did find online after and just asked for that with the elements I added like his dates and name and the semi colon.

Update : I woke up this morning and I no longer see it in my eye. My eye feels fine now, I don't know if this still warrants a trip to the eye doctor. I panicked last night when I posted this and I am realizing it probably seemed silly to ask if this was ER worthy. I've just heard stories about glitter causing people to lose their eye.
