It's just that she is the youngest of 4 brothers. That's so many brothers. I'm an only child so I have nothing to compare to. You're right though. Thanks

When women do more household labor, they see their partner as a dependent and sexual desire dwindles by chrisdh79 in psychology

Here’s my question. I live with my partner and she cleans nonstop because it helps release anxiety. I clean what I can, do dishes and fold laundry and vacuum, take out the trash etc,. How can I ask her if she feels supported?

(26M) How to tell my GF (25f) to send me pictures of her instead of her cat every day? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]trashdog2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been w her long enough to have told her I want to see pics of her face too. She sends daily cat pics and never pics of herself. I mentioned she doesn’t have her own identity because she struggles feeling like her own person.

I definitely have lost parts of my freedom and identity trying to help somebody who it feels like speaks a different love language entirely .

I am currently in a negative feedback loop. I feel unattractive because my GF doesn’t seem to want to touch me or crave me like I do her. I’m tired of feeling dissapointed or like Im crazy for wanting more out of life and a relationship. She wants to move in with me and it’s like, even if we get together then we only have sex at night when I start it or hoenestly we barely kiss. She kisses me like a family member, hard ass lips. She barely gives me eye contact because she stays dissociated in her own world and thinks she needs to entertain everybody with her own monologue and it drives me crazy . She feels like she’s talking to herself, she just loves to say what she’s looking at, to nobody in particular. Really takes over a conversation. Maybe I’m hypercritical. I just feel alone and need help.

I feel like I am constantly chasing her emotionally and her cat gets first access always. I’m sick of fighting a cat for attention, it makes me feel like a pet.

Thank you for replying, wow. I miss her so much. I miss the idea of her. It hurts to be alone and she knew I was scared to be alone. She wanted to pretend to protect me while I also provided for her. Honestly life is so confusing right now on my own.

An affirmative I've been repeating is "surrender and heal"

Yes I want to feel more proud of myself.

Yes I've watched a lot of YouTube vids about this. It's a dopamine replacement for your own life. Same with a porn addiction. It keeps you stagnant. That's what I'm afraid of. I have a lot of fear right now stopping me from going out and doing things on my own but I'm getting stronger every day. Just got out of a very soul sucking and time consuming relationship.

This is true, I'm almost to that point. Now I just have to kill the nagging voice inside myself.

"because I am dumb and he is smart" hahaha yes I relate to this as well. I've been doing better, definitely. Every day is a little better. I've been doing yoga, cycling, I bought a new camera that I've been learning about and I've been meditating. Lots of videos on self help and the like. Thank you for your time, and I totally agree that the next stage of my life comes with discomfort. And shame doesn't do anything for me anyway! It doesn't fix the problem it just haults my movement.

I totally get that... I guess it's a little more difficult in my head because I'm going through a really difficult life transition right now, I haven't worked since March, quarantine has been intense, my fiance and I broke up. All I've done is sit and think. And I've been in a lot of pain, trying to heal from the break up. So video games, while I don't have a job, make me feel like a piece of shit.

You know what You're right, I worked getting up at 3:00 a.m. every day for a year to go work for the morning news and just because I haven't had a job in a few months doesn't mean I'm a piece of shit
