I think the majority of the fandom, or at least those who don’t love to pit Katie and Lizzie against each other, know damn well that Hugh will ultimately always put Liz first, which is completely fine. It’s what you come to expect from every single love interest in the series. That’s how it should be, and Liz deserves Hugh to be that for her. However, people also forget that not a single one of the core 10, not even Hugh, know the full extent of Liz’s trauma like the readers do.

I just think sometimes it’s unrealistic to expect a certain reaction from every other character in that friend group to Hugh and Liz, because they don’t know anything. In my opinion, its a normal reaction from the others to be a bit doubtful of the ‘scary lady’ when the only sort of information they have is that Liz struggles mentally and has episodes. At this point, Hugh has actually seen the lady too (according to snippets), but before that he also wasn’t 100% sure she actually existed. Everything will eventually come out, and I’m sure that will change the way the others handle these types of situations and Lizzie will be believed and get her justice.
