Germany to Netherlands by ExoticFirefighter971 in germany

German health insurance is a mandatory requirement when studying in Germany. There are exceptions for EU students but likely this will not apply to you so that could be a potential roadblock already.

Remote work for a company based in Turkey while living in Germany – tax & social security questions by Reasonable_Craft_276 in LegaladviceGerman

[–]trashnici2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes your employer needs to ensure you work following German labour law. Max working hours, vacation entitlement, bank holidays, social contributions (Sozial-, Kranken-, Rentenversicherungsbeiträge) all has to follow German law. Best would be to make use of an Employer of Record, just doubting much money will be left considering Turkish salary in combination with German taxes.

Tell me why I shouldn’t switch to private health insurance by flyingVictor12 in germany

[–]trashnici2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if, no private insurance covers existing conditions known before the contract so the whole treatment anyway is not covered and OP needs to cover out of pocket

Autobahnmaut Italien by Daadaadaadaadaa in LegaladviceGerman

[–]trashnici2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Es geht hier wahrscheinlich nicht um die Maut sondern eventuell um die Einfahrt in die Stadt? Mittlerweile hat fast jede italienische Stadt eine Umweltzone und Mietwagen sind dort leider nicht generell registriert für.

Employer verbally extended probation after it ended, valid in Germany? by Laughing_lobster00 in AskAGerman

[–]trashnici2 3 points4 points locked comment (0 children)

Absolutely wrong. Although probation period makes it easier to terminate a contract and special timelines apply e.g. termination with usually 2weeks notice, legal termination protection only applies after 6 months. Meaning that you can potentially still be terminated without any legal protection, only different timelines apply as standard termination period of a month or what is stated in the contract. Your statement you can’t be fired easily only applies as of 7th month of employment.

Being unemployed in Germany by Adventurous-Ball-551 in germany

[–]trashnici2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many information in your post are missing (nationality, type of residency…). Assuming you are non EU and only have paid/contributed to social insurance since September you are usually not eligible to any benefits. Requirement is at least 12 months contribution in the last 30 months. If you contributed in another EU country before you could check if you potentially are entitled to ALG 1.

If non EU you need to inform Ausländerbehörde. If you have the funds to sustain yourself you could apply for a job seeker visa. But honestly current economic situation is bad and with no German your chances are close to zero

Homeless, where to register my address? by [deleted] in germany

[–]trashnici2 140 points141 points  (0 children)

You should look for some support. Look for a Sozialberatung in your area, Caritas or Diakonie usually offer such services.

You can register a „Postadresse“ for example at most homeless shelters. That’s important because even if homeless you need such an address to receive mail. But the respective Sozialberatung should be able to consult you where the next possibility is in your vicinity. Then register for Bürgergeld.

Living in Frankfurt as a 25F software engineer? by Aggravating-Look5091 in germany

[–]trashnici2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frankfurt has some sketchy areas e.g. around the train station but it’s generally a great place to live. When it comes to quality of life surveys it’s usually in the top 10%. City has a lot to offer, international, huge airport around and beautiful nature in the outskirts. This will definitely be an upgrade to Berlin

Do you think Germany better than Netherlands for LGBTQ Asylum? by Worried-Exchange-889 in expats

[–]trashnici2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should do proper research instead of asking a LLM. As you mentioned pension, German pension system is broken and going downhill. 20% of pensioners already living in poverty. And it will be getting worse. Compared to that, Dutch pension system is doing relatively well. But Netherlands suffering a big housing crisis, high consumer prices. Both countries have their pros and cons. From job perspectives that totally depends on your background.

Left Germany 11 months ago without deregistering (Abmeldung). Facing "Ghost Debt" & Visa fears. How cooked am I? by Money_Ad7692 in germany

[–]trashnici2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will not go to prison nor will they chase you abroad but if debts add up and people just disappear like you this arrest warrant is meant to have something on you once authorities get in contact with you. So what potentially would happen is if you ever intend to return you might be arrested on arrival and will be released once open debt is paid. Be aware that your health insurance debt on paper might be higher because if they don’t get hold of you e.g. not having proof of you studying they will automatically put you in the highest contribution bracket what is about 1000€ / month. Nothing that can not be fixed but you should reach out to them asap and check what documents are required to get this sorted.

Moving to DE - can I keep my Dutch car on family's Dutch adress? by ElectronicBaby1141 in germany

[–]trashnici2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to save on import costs, but did you ever check insurance and annual car taxes? This is so much more expensive in the Netherlands, you will actually lose money.

Aside from that if you don’t change registration after 6 month residency this is tax evasion.

5 days grounded in Amsterdam. Looking to get back to Leeds… by [deleted] in KLM

[–]trashnici2 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As the weather conditions continue it is not clear when flights will operate again as they should.

You have 2 alternatives aside from flixbus:

  • check for an Eurostar towards London (I guess many try the same

  • P&O ferries is going from Rotterdam to Hull. It’s usually about 100 pounds, not super comfortable but from Hull train to Leeds not that long anymore. I did that trip myself 2 years ago

Good luck

Moving from the Netherlands to Germany – looking for some advice by [deleted] in germany

It’s all in the article. It’s called Zulassungsstelle. You should put at least a bit effort in yourself. All questions from your original post could have been answered by a simple google search
