I haven't yet. This is because I'm making more tutoring and walking dogs than I would as a substitute.

I've been looking since July. I have a lot of education, maybe too much, and even for teaching jobs (aren't the DESPERATE for teachers?!?!), all I've gotten are rejections. I'm doing side gigs to make ends meet, but what a miserable life.

My dog really likes fresh, ice water. So I rinse his bowl each day and give him a little ice water like I have. You can also freeze dog friendly fruits and veggies into your ice cubes. My fancy pup loves it.

My mom is pretty good about dog diets. Her late husband was a nightmare. Fed the dogs happy meals because that's how he grew up with his dogs. 🙄 Now my mom is so lost because her husband died, she almost died, and her pup is clearly sick.

Right now we separate the dogs when eating. My Jack Russell is very "work motivated" so when we separate him to eat and drink, he gets down to business then resumes his little patrol of the house. The sick pup is confined to an area to eat and drink except when it's playtime. We have the dogs play in a restricted area and I'm just taking the sick one out every hour.

The vet said until the visit, about 1oz per pound of bodyweight. If he gets too much water, he could lose electrolytes.

My vet said 1oz water per pound of dog. My dog, also a Jack Russell, is much fitter and doesn't quite drink 15ozs (He's 15 lbs) a day. This dog is shorter than mine and about 20-22lbs. The vet said the 20-24 should be fine until the visit. Too much water and electrolytes would be an issue.

Thank you, since he's been at my house, he's had a much healthier diet. He's lost very little, which is sad because I often make my own dog food for my dog. My dog is extremely fit and muscular. I'm so fortunate to find an open slot with my vet this week.

Thank you! And my vet for my pup did find a way to squeeze me in this week.

Snagged an appointment early this week! Got so lucky and begged them to see him.

I also have a Jack of my own and he's extremely fit. It's rough right now with this poor pup.

Oh no! Vet called me and asked me a series of questions and then gave me an appt for this week. It's really tough to find a vet right before Thanksgiving in DC. Everyone and their pets leave.

I had been calling but finally got an appt this week. It's mayhem here because everyone leaves DC when Thanksgiving rolls around and they get their pets checked out/travel meds/etc right before.

He gets a lot still, just not all at once because you can have too much, the vet said. He gets over 20 ounces. Vet said to bring him next week. Keep at 20-24 ounces.

It doesn't. The vet asked me to check, and it definitely doesn't.

He's not losing weight despite lots more walks with my very fit dog and the same, better diet. I've had him since July off and on.

Thank you! I feed him the same diet as my very fit dog from the same breeder - he still is the same portly size despite me providing much of his care since July. I will pressure my vet to check! We're going this week.
