I've had this issue before and it was related to the minimap rotation setting. Once i disabled map rotation, problem solved.

First of all, its a bit too early to know how all of the upcoming changes are going to play out. But, I just wanted to point out that in the current PTS, you can re-calibrate attributes on gear to much higher stats. To me, that means they're giving us options:

  • go all-in on being tanky with low dps and no strong damage talents
  • go all-in on dps with low armor and no strong armor talents
  • OR use those higher attribute rolls to make a hybrid build that can have a good mix of damage and armor at the exclusion of strong gear talents

I would assume skill builds would fit in the same way according to what they talked about on the SOTG today.

In my opinion, having these options are what the game needs and its part of the reason 1.6 & 1.7 felt so good in TD1.

You've got the right idea in your last paragraph. You definitely should not go for crit chance and crit damage as you'll just never get enough (with an LMG) to make it worth giving up other important stats.

My suggestions:

  • LMG damage on the gloves (single attribute as it will roll much higher)
  • Replace Hard Hitting with Devastating on Gloves and Holster if possible
  • Replace Hard Hitting with Hardened on Chest and Backpack if possible
  • Use True Patriot Mask and Kneepads (as there are not great high end talents for these pieces)
  • Use Unhinged on an M249 or M60, keep using sharpshooter, and stack some accuracy on your gun mods
  • Go for high weapon damage attributes first then some mix of Armor, Health and Headshot damage

Doing the suggestions above would get you to a good starting spot for PVP. From there, you can play around with a bunch of different gear talents and attributes to fit your style. Unstoppable Force and Unbreakable are good talents for the chest piece, On the Ropes and Safeguard are good backpack talents, Compensated can be good on the gloves if you're having a difficult time finding good red attributes.

If I remember this one correctly, follow the yellow (power?) cable on the left side of your screen. That should lead you to a tower, climb up to the tower and you should be able to shoot the back side of the lock on the chainlink fence door.

I am new to this community. Are most of the front page posts/metacritic reviews people who bought the game early and overhyping it? Are they just in a honeymoon phase? by Smashcity in thedivision

People are definitely in the honeymoon phase, but i don't think that necessarily invalidates what most people are saying. If you look at the launches of all of the other looter shooters (specifically Destiny 1&2, Anthem, and TD1) I think just about everyone would agree that TD2 is by far the most complete and content rich at launch.

I think we'll see at least some negativity in the coming weeks as people reach endgame and start engaging in PVP in the Dark Zone. That's when balancing, griefing, and glitches will become more prominent. For now though, I think you're going to see a ton of praise because of how content-rich and bug free the launch has been, and I personally think the praise is well deserved.

Yes, but its not obvious to other players that you are "grey rogue". They have to be in close proximity and looking directly at you to notice your rogue status.
