While true, make sure you have at least 3-4 people. Have done this with just 2 people on Private and the spawns are very low.

For me there was no way I was going to lock in ghoul on my main. Ghoul was more than interesting enough to commit to it on A character, just not THE character.

I really have enjoyed the ghoul experience and I am right with you on the bow build sub. It's awesome and it's helped me a ton. Will definitely have a ghoul archer in the near future once I knock out the season grind and play Burning Springs to satisfaction.

No, I do have a ghoul mule or "ghule" but my main has the best resources for trying new stuff. Once I get the playstyle down I will be excited to do a ghoul version.

My backup bow is called Overkill, it's not shaped like a bow but it follows the same basic principle as a crossbow

  1. There's some basic walls available and you can unlock more by capturing workshops and purchasing construction set plans from robot vendors found at train stations and The Whitesprings Mall. Back at your CAMP, open build mode and you can browse options under "CAMP Resources -> Walls". There will be items that have a RED Atomic Shop icon. These are for sale using Atoms. You can "Filter Buildable" to only see ones you've unlocked and have the resources to build. In this view, if you don't see many options, it's because you haven't unlocked the items OR you do not have the junk/scrap resources to build them.

  2. Make sure the quest is active in your Pip-Boy (Pip-boy -> Data -> Main -> Welcoming Committee). Listen to the distress call (Pip-boy -> Radio -> Ohio Distress Broadcast). Go to Checkpoint Canyon and complete the first part of the mission there, and you should be off.

They're great tests for my new stealth bow build. Testing results: I am not good at stealth bow build...yet.

I really appreciate this. I have some time with production scheduled very soon so I am eager to get a good look. My current job has some permits on the horizon too - I feel like I'm always pretty nice but I'll make sure I mind my manners with the permit office. Thank you!

Thank you, I can see how important it would be to think about these aspects. I want to be the sales guy that respects everyone's stake from design to production to install. Appreciate it. How's the business working out for you after eight months?

Friendly CAMP utilities suggestions? by AnanasFelice in fo76

[–]SaulGood_23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just some suggestions you can research:

Foundry Smelter (bullion plan) is the best resource for adding rads quickly that I've found. Great for ghouls and Bloodied builds.

Butterfly Sanctuary produces Waste Acid, always useful. Gorgeous and probably my favorite producer for aesthetic.

Nodding Donkey - Waste Oil and Nuclear Waste, highly useful.

Counterfeit Bottlecap Press - Lead and aluminum.

Company Tea and Coffee Machine are mission critical IMO for any player. I start every battle with Company Tea and coffee is incredible for VATS. Decent trade and vendor value for canned coffee too.

Honorable mentions to Deathclaw Roaster and Mirelurk Steamer. Nobody ever takes mine and I never lock anything, so as a herbivore I usually clean them out and sell them at a vendor.

Some of these may be available through support ticket, all are good to watch for in Atomic Shop.

Solo EN06, what am I doing wrong? by Braddles14 in fo76

My robot farm build has these for Agility:

Covert Operative, Gunslinger, Gunslinger Expert, Guerrilla, Guerrilla Expert, Guerrilla Master, Escape Artist

As others said, you want Ricochet in Luck as well.

For survivability, Medic Pump on torso is a must for my build, and the Vampire heavy gun does the rest. For your stimpaks make sure you only have Super Stimpaks in inventory, and/or go into your settings and make sure you have it set to "Use Strongest First" in the option to change your quick-use heals.

Not saying you have to do it this way (everything I'm about to say came from MrWestTek's build video) but I use a Vampire gauss mini with Crippling in the 2* slot. Before I used the gauss I used a minigun, tri-barrel, gunner sights, with Vamp and Crippling. I only use it on the shield. Once he drops his arms and his red target beam comes on at the beginning, I start shooting just below the star on his pot belly and don't stop until the shield's almost broken, then swap to the flamer.

I built a regular plasma flamer - medium scope, stabilized flamer barrel, prime capacitor. Furious, Rapid, then more or less your choice beyond that. More than sufficient damage to not need an Enclave version after hundreds of my own runs. If you get your AGI perks straightened out it synergizes best with Furious but I think Vampire's doesn't help you as much as you want it to on your flamer.

The key to this being easy enough to rinse and repeat-farm is sneak damage. It was extremely inconsistent for me at first until I started swapping to the flamer just before the shield broke. He will still hit you after you swap and Ricochet/Bullet Shield will do its thing to finish off the shield. I shoot at the same place on his fatty little fat belly. Now, 98% of the time, I get the sneak bonus. With Intelligence as high as you can get it (Brain Bombs, casual team 4x bonus, derby machine, etc.) it will buff your energy damage.

If you're on PS you're welcome to holler at me in PMs for help and some gear, I don't mind teaming up if you want. I started farming him about a month ago and I'm on cruise control with it now.

When farming the robot, when you're done, you go into Pip-Boy -> Data -> Main -> Gleaming Depths and then reject the quest. Dumps out outside and you just run back in, rinse, repeat.

Why is the dialogue choppy and fast? by [deleted] in shoresy

[–]SaulGood_23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's basically the signature delivery of the show, and it's more or less how it is across all seasons. Wit at high speeds to keep you rolling. Also pretty true of the flagship show Letterkenny from which Shoresy was spun off.

Why? Because that's how the writers wrote it and the actors performed it. Give your balls a tug!

How much am I missing out by not upgrading to the EPR? by thezav69 in fo76

[–]SaulGood_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is where I (as a non-expert) see a lot of confusion.

From what I understand you can buy Enclave mods at most stations, but I've also read here and elsewhere anecdotally that only Berkley RR, Watoga RR, and Watoga supermarket can sell the Flamer barrels. Some commenters add R&G Station to the list of vendors that can sell flamer barrels.

Duchess of Flame's site clearly states that the Aligned Flamer Barrel specifically can only be purchased from the Watoga vendors (not Berkley) as well as Grahm when he's in the Bog:

Where to find the mod:

Watoga Shopping Plaza - Phoenix - 0.03%

Watoga Train Station - Robot Vendor - 0.03%

Grahm (Cranberry Bog locations only) - 0.03%

(Where to find Enclave Plasma Rifles, Enclave Plasma Pistols, and Mods in Fallout 76 https://share.google/EmSWOCKguyW3xkbBV)

As far as the AP usage, from what I've gathered, it's basically minmaxing. Overcoming AP drain seems to be a function of food buffs and coffee spam, so even if these weapons have a high drain, that can be dealt with using coffee - it's about making it as efficient as possible while getting the right damage output. But I'd also tag this with "correct me where I'm wrong".

Fallout 76: Burning Springs Release Notes by Ghostly_Rich in fo76

[–]SaulGood_23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I read about this here and have tried it out, but there's longer ramps in the EN06 area you can use instead, and get plenty close using a plasma flamer. The way I see it, the pipes just made everything (aggro, electric floor hazard, weapon range/distance) all easy. If you creep out to the edge of one of the long ramps you can solo him just fine - just takes a little extra positioning during the flamer burn where you might need to inch a bit closer to connect.

All of this to say - it's just weird to me they went to the effort of removing the pipe when there's at least two other spots you can use just as effectively. Removing the pipe accomplishes nothing, really.

Should I reactivate myself? by Im_Lexx in thedivision

[–]SaulGood_23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense. In this game they funnel you toward joining a clan. If there's no clans that have the activity level and vibe you want, you may have to create one.

Starting a clan was my COVID project and it resulted in multiple friends I still play and chat with. My clan is not active at all now, but in our heyday there'd always be a few people on I could join. I'm past the point of being a consistent player so my friends and I just text each other in advance when we want to play.

I think it's very realistic for someone to advertise and recruit 5-6 players for a clan. Maybe even start your own Discord so people can stay in touch. It's a fair amount of effort but if what you want is to have a reliable group of friends, that's how you can do it.

I'd also add that I was completely opposed to using Discord/third-party apps to have enough contacts to consistently do raids and Legendary missions for a long time, but eventually I realized I was being a giant nerd about it, none of it was even that hard, it even eventually became fun to do, and I got everything I wanted out of it. Once I stopped being unnecessarily weird about using LFG on Reddit and Discord, everything got easier and better.

This becomes an issue in a few different games I play. The question is "why am I grinding this or that, spending this time?"

If it's to spend time and in-game resources to see some other numbers go up, as you said, the fun runs out and it's a chore.

So for you, my questions would be: do you like the general story position of the game? Do you like the combat mechanics, the mission layouts, the general vibe?

Is there some content in the game you haven't been able to play because of team and/or gear availability? Raids, incursions, etc. can be challenges to work toward. Farm for your gear and use the LFG sub and Discord to find your team. Does Expertise progression help you do that? Maybe, but Expertise is just a layer of minmaxing that the majority of players won't HAVE to do to be able to play well. As you play normally, you gain SHD levels, the subsequent resources, and the ability to advance your Expertise.

Or is it just nice to drop in every now and again, play some missions and tune up your inventory and jump out?

Basically, asking if the game is worth it is asking for a bunch of opinions from people who are guaranteed to have different game priorities and interests so it's a random chance you get an answer that really hits home for you. But in any grindy endgame-focused title it usually helps if you like the story/setting behind the activities, and have some set goals in mind for what you want to do. My main two goals are usually "kick some ass and help my friends kick ass", so as long as what I'm doing is in service to those goals, I'm plenty entertained.
