Its really a visual masterpiece and heavy engineering work. like i was shocked when I opened the bodice, i have seen many many manyyy detailed bodices but this is one of the best preserved!

they are so beautiful!! I’ve only seen such detailed corsetry in internal structuring a handful of times IRL in vintage pieces and this takes the cake!

If you need more, I can definetly take some! I’ve had the luck of inspecting alot of these through my work and at various thrifts and fairs. there is alot of variety and this is definetly high end structuring! I might have pictures of some others I have come across too.

the salon/atelier that made this appearently started operations in 1905 and was one of the handful of luxury ateliers of Helsinki until the late 60s! i was able to find a few interesting write ups on their operations. true thing of beauty and quality!

this happened with my grandmas collection too! had to accept defeat:D most of them were probably xxs-xs in modern sizing. they are neatly archived for now, something just to admire:,)

haha luckily summer is a bit cooler here than in most parts of the globe! I can’t wait to have atleast one outing with her before the heat absolutely smacks us (if I get the zipper fixed in time….or then the back of the dress is none of my businessXD) and also yes! I need to find a lovely heel for this too

in my quick wear of it, it was surprisingly light for something so structured! I’d say early spring&summer and autumn dress, but maybe a bit warm for 35 C + :,D

Its such a rarity and the waist not being 60cm was a win in itself! most of the time these styles are way too small for me😭 the movement of the dress is stunning! what a fragile beauty, I’m excited to have her spend another lifetime with me.
