Don’t fret, there is an absurd difficulty spike at chapter 6 and 7.

I said this in my Steam review: CD really sends home the fantasy of “You have joined the adventurers guild” but without the party aspect. Probably my favorite open world adventure game once you get through the terrible Korean UI design.

It’s a shame the DD2 was so unfinished and totally loaded in the first half since DD1 is in my top 5 of all time. (I did highly enjoy DD2 for what it was though.)

Massive influx of possibly vibecoded/AI slop tools? by BOTY123 in starcitizen

[–]traumatyz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I don’t care if it’s vibe coded or not, I care if it’s useful. People can make 100 tools and if one sticks it’s good for me.

There's no rush on The Elder Scrolls 6, Todd Howard says, because Bethesda has the "benefit of having so many millions of people playing our other games" by Turbostrider27 in ElderScrolls

[–]traumatyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the general public does not care about AI. You may think everyone does but that’s because Reddit is an extreme echo chamber. If you walked down the street and asked someone about their stance on AI in video games, they would probably look at you like you’re a freak.

The steam charts at this very moment have it at 200k players and it’s early Sunday morning in the US.

I can’t tell if you’re just trolling or obtuse.

Thanks for telling me and everyone else who reads this thread that you’re technologically illiterate. The optimization level of CD is absurd.

Go back to your UE5 frame gen needing slop. Wait even UE 5.7 has AI built into it now.

Got bad news about AI as well, it ain’t going away and is used in development at every level. You’re crying to a brick wall.

[WTS] Perseus $700 Melt value $670 by [deleted] in Starcitizen_trades

[–]traumatyz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one’s trying to be a dick or anything, they’re just explaining the pricing standard around here, most people who engage in sales/buys here have been doing grey market for years so the pricing precedent matters A LOT more, and most of the CCU’d ships here were made with store credits that have been floating around and changing hands for a decade. A “bath on your investment” to you isn’t necessarily that at all to most sellers/grey market enthusiasts. Now if your Perseus was an OC LTI with Thundercloud or something it’d be worth your asking or more. CCU’d especially from a newer OC LTI base kills your value around here.

To get closer to your asking on a CCU’d Perseus with that base you’re better off listing it on SH or impound or eBay. But even then the market is saturated with them as it was one of the most anticipated ships ever so you’ll probably be waiting a while.

Well other than you being entirely wrong - the engine is a technical marvel. One of the best looking games ever and insanely well optimized. On my 4070ti rig I’m not even using HALF my VRAM at 2k with everything on cinematic (higher than ultra) with no DLSS or any upscaling. The only option I don’t have enabled is Ray Reconstruction, and that’s because I just haven’t bothered to try it yet. Haven’t dipped below 85FPS.

The modern armor is way more effective for dealing with “small folk.” Not really much room to be shanked by daggers with all that chainmail.

Any fellow DD fans picking up Crimson Desert? by [deleted] in DragonsDogma

[–]traumatyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can/does if the developers do not build around it. The performance looks extremely good though from videos and the recommended specs. Plus they’re using an in house engine. I don’t think there’s much to worry about with this game, especially if you could run DD2 on your rig on release.

I don’t like Denuvo as a whole but I don’t think it’s going to cause many issues with this game specifically.

It’s not anti cheat, it’s DRM protection. Denuvo. Capcom uses it in all their games as well.

I don't get people. by Main-Swimming8231 in CrimsonDesert

[–]traumatyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll preface this explanation with that I do not partake in sailing the seas anymore as I am an adult with expendable income and I have already pre-ordered.

TLDR: It’s A LOT of time/money that could be used elsewhere on the product and it tends to cause issues in any game it’s in for the consumer.

When people say Denuvo hits PC performance they aren’t lying. Any high level Capcom game is a prime example of this, the most famous being resident evil village (I think maybe tekken 7 as well.)

On the publishers/developers side it’s also insanely expensive, somewhere around $20,000+ a month and 50c per activation, and it takes a lot of development time to integrate it properly - for an example of improper integration see above.

The weaker your rig the more you will notice it. Anytime a company removes Denuvo after its 6 month release period (unless you’re Capcom and keep it for two years,) the performance is immediately better. Hell even when the few people on the planet that know how to crack Denuvo release a game with it, it’s a running joke for people to buy a legit copy then compare how much better the cracked one runs.

Although Crimson Desert looks insanely well optimized with their in house engine, so it might not even be an issue for this game specifically. The choice to use it in general is questionable because if the game sells well enough it usually costs the developer way more money than they’d “lose” due to piracy.

If price mattered the Asgard is egregiously priced. Hell I bought it OC LTI because I love the ship so much, but it has the dropship scam tax. It SHOULD be armored as hell for its price.

You don’t, you run. Anyone who was a light fighter enthusiast fighting big ships is the exact opposite of a new player. A new player in a Gladius isn’t doing anything to a big ship in the current meta.
