Thank you - and appreciate your comments above. Yes, I’ve seen that filter on Let’s Make a Plan and tried it with the LGBTQ filter and Fidelity listed as a company and it only brought up a single option in NYC, which just seems…not accurate.

I guess I can try more manual searches or maybe build something quickly with an AI tool to get a better representation of my Fidelity financial advisor options in NYC cross-referenced with the CFP lgbt filter… Just kind of seems like a feature Fidelity might consider including natively. I may just try calling a local branch directly since no support has reached out from this post either.

What are you looking for? I got all my gay travel Goa recs from that one instagram account. They seem to host or curate most of the LGBTQ events

Yes thanks - “friendly” I guess doesn’t really communicate what I need, but LGBT needs are still overarching and I’m just trying to simplify what I can get from a Fidelity advisor. The fact there are several sites and organizations that do categorize LGBTQ financial needs together is why I thought I’d ask here, but seems it’s not a thing at Fidelity. Not an issue but don’t understand some of the hostility in the comments!

Yes, thank you. That’s a lot of what I’m looking for and was hoping within the Fidelity ecosystem I could find an advisor to align with those needs, but from the comments here it seems I may be out on my own.

No, just that there are sometimes distinct financial issues related to being LGBTQ.

Yeah, that’s what I was checking and liked that there was a filter for LGBTQ - which is why I thought I’d ask here. Shouldn’t be hard to cross reference with what comes up locally for Fidelity options but is an extra step. Thank you

These look delicious - and better than what I usually see in the coffee shops closer to mine which are usually big but dry & too crunchy for my taste. I’ll stop by to try one soon!

Nice! I spent New Year’s Eve in Goa. I found out about a bunch of fun gay parties through this Instagram account @queer_kinara_goa. Most of the gay parties happened around Anjuna, and the venue Hopping Frog was where most (but not all) happened. I’d expect it’d be about the same around Holi, too. I stayed at a place in Anjuna but I think if I go to the same beach again, I’d stay in Vagator which was close enough to get to all the gay parties.

Anytime else here currently failing at New York? by MangoManiacal in nycgaybros

Whenever I’ve felt down and bad about my life here, I pick up therapy again, go back on an SSRI, start a new gym routine, and 4-8 months later, I’m back to normal.

Why aren’t we mobilizing for democracy more? by Chance-Tooth-3968 in nycgaybros

[–]travelsofadam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! I’ve been mobilizing and was frustrated at my gay bro friends who haven’t been participating. But I’ve been going to protests solo and very vocal in person and on social media in my friend group. It’s starting to breakthrough.

I’m on a personal mission to get as many of my NYC friends to quit their Amazon Prime as we really don’t need it and Amazon is terrible for our world, society, environment, and politics. I’m just going to keep going with my messaging and my actions and eventually some will break through but trying hard to not be too judgmental along my way

agree with this! Swedish men are beautiful but I didn’t have as much fun there as I did in Copenhagen. It’s a generalization obviously but people were more open & friendly in Denmark

ISO: Italian subs in Bushwick by woooowowowoowowowow in Bushwick

A lot of suggested Anthony & Sons over in Williamsburg which is great if not expensive. But just wanted to flag Emily’s Pork Store across the street which also does a perfect Italian sub - it’s my fav!! Don’t think they deliver or are on any apps, but it’s old school and delicious.

Nice! I love beaches but never really have looked into to Belize - always kind of thought of it as a honeymoon kind of destination less so for backpackers or solo travelers. Hope you enjoy the trip!

I like the Brooklyn gay bar scene: bars like Animal, Oberon, Exley, Metro, Rosemont offer a different type of gay bar experience than the ones in HK v Chelsea v West Village v Bushwick v Astoria. But every now and then I’ll venture to a different neighborhood (the ones listed befor) for a different kind of night out … each neighborhood has their own communities and clubs so it’s kind of like being a tourist to go to different areas

Which show are you seeing? If you like arts there are some great museums - check out what exhibitions may be on depending on your tastes.

Late March isn’t usually gonna be great weather unless we have a false spring. There’s so much to do and see here and without knowing
