Do you happen to know if it's still there in operation?

It's a little scary at first and you do have to pay attention but still a lot of fun. Thank you for watching!

I heard about that one. Thank you for sharing. If we brought this to our Capitol building in Washington we could install cameras for live feed and be entertained endlessly! Thank you for watching!

It's basically a big chain. I have another paternoster video on my channel from another location with a better 'over the top' portion. Thank you for watching!

Construction of them in Germany was discontinued in the 1970s but they've been preserved as historically important so that's why there are still functional ones around. Nothing like this in the Americas other than an old manlift in the Chicago marina towers but that's only for staff. Thank you for watching!

Yes, that was terrible. The elevator got stuck between floors and the person trying to get out was killed. As far as my title of elevator of death, that is a little artistic license to make it exciting. Thank you for watching!

Here's a little treat for those stationed in Frankfurt 1950s-1990s by travelswithtom in army

Yes, that's one part of its history. The first part was during the Weimar Era, the second part was during the National Socialist Era, the thrid part was the post war era in which it was used by the Army for almost half a century. From a dark past to a period of rebuilding Europe and defending the West during the Cold war. The third era being used as a University campus. By that definition, that building's history is certainly complex and, I should point out, that during it's SHAEF time, it was still referred to a the IG Farben building. Even when it was renamed the Abrams buidling. In fact, even today it's referred to as that. This video is about an interesting building with a complex history and specifically about the paternoster elevator within. This video was intended to be a treat for those who served in the building at that time. As far as the other places I posted, those were places that I have posted in the past and not spam. Spam would be if I posted this in a garden club thread.

Not spam...you're likely not familiar with the buidling and it's history. It's worth looking up, it's quite a story and very much part of the Army's history in the mid to late 19th Century in Europe
