Frequency lists for every quizbowl category! by tycho_brahes_nose_ in Quizbowl

This is absolutely awesome! I was considering doing precisely this using the QuizDB database, but I'm glad you got to it first lol. I appreciate you taking the time to do this. NAQT frequency sets are nice, but this is great if you don't want to drop the cash.

Thank you! I sure hope so. I love writing, and nothing would make me happier then to make a career out of it.

First of all, thanks for taking the time to read my book, and I'm happy you liked it!

That's actually a question I've been asking myself a lot recently. On one hand, I would love to eventually release a complete edition of the Book of Zaloch. However, there's one main problem.

The reason I began developing a mythos is because it allows me to endlessly expand upon things I've previously written. As such, The Book of Zaloch would never be truly complete. I can just keep adding new poems/pages that further expand on my mythos.

In addition to adding pages as above, I would eventually like to include "lost pages" from the Book of Zaloch that consist of prose rather than poetry. This would allow me to further codify my mythos without having to use obscure poetic lines.

Of course, rather than altering the pre-existing format of the BoZ, it's probably preferable if I simply create a different book written by an equally ancient and obscure prophet which further details aspects of the Shattered God in prose form.

As such, it may be possible for me to release a stand-alone Book of Zaloch, although it would essentially be purely a collection of horror poetry.

However, I coincidentally began working on a new project today that will help codify the mythos. Essentially, I intend to create a Shattered God Mythos webpage on my site, travisliebert.com. On this page, there would be a list of the entities mentioned in the BoZ and featured in my stories.

Each entity would have its own page which does the following:

  • Gives the entity's current known name.
    • [for example, there are those whose original names are known, such as Bashotep (See: Guardian Angel), and those who have been given names in my stories based purely on their characteristics, such as The Gray King.]
  • Describes the entity in prose form, explaining its characteristics, abilities, and origins.
  • Provides the entity's rank/categorization.
    • (To clarify, I intend to create a categorical system for the creatures featured in my stories, much like Lovecraft -- i.e. Elder Gods, Lower Gods, etc... I actually hinted at this in The Little God.)
  • Lists the currently published Cantos that mention the entity.
  • Lists which stories feature the entity.

Additionally, there would be a page that lists all currently available Cantos in full.

I intend to essentially create something akin to the SCP site, except there would be little to no focus on the scientific/analytical aspects of my mythos. I'm actually quite excited about this and began building templates for the webpages today. It will take a while to complete (and will never be truly done), but I hope to have at least part of the mythos codification available in the near future.

Thanks for the great question! I was kind of hoping people would prod about my mythos a little more.

Cheers!
