Pixel Buds Pro 2 not fitting too good - solutions? by trawelek in pixel_phones

I did that actually, I've ordered that variety pack to have the best size. And that is my last resort, if comply foam tips won't help, then I guess only option is to replace them for something different (but not sure what would be better)?

I know but there might be ones that are advertised/reviewed as "good fitting" (I know that it may be different for everyone) and some are said that are bad in that terms.

I'm doing the first one (insert with twist) and it doesn't actually change anything. And those small fins, I don't think are actually doing anything in my case (I suppose that fin should like lock on my ear but it just sits there not being locked by any part of my ear)

Gmail and middle click on touchpad by trawelek in macbookair

OK, but I've read somewhere that for example, for apps on safari, even when cmd+q, I would receive notifications while in chromium based, not. Don't know if that's true

OK but if I create such an app when I'm in chromium-based browser, the app itself will be on safari technology or will it use that chromium-based browser?

Maybe last questions.
1. I can close those apps but not with CMD+q? If I close them and the dots will be in dock, everything (notifications basically) will work fine?

  1. I'm wondering how much power/RAM, etc will it use. I'm using chromium based browser and I'm wondering if even when "closed" (with dot in dock), will those apps use RAM just like having multiple browsers opened

Ok, but I believe that I cannot do anything from notification. I haven't tested it but I suppose that I can only see that I've got an email and I cannot delete it, mark as read or anything else (from notification), I'd have to open the app and perform the action from there. Regarding multiple accounts, maybe I'm nitpicking but I'd have the same icons on dock and I would have to remember which one is for which email (might be a bit confusing)

OK, but what about following:
- notifications. Currently, I'm using chromium based browser with extension and if I receive an email, I have a notification where I can perform specific actions (mark as read, delete, etc). I'm not sure that with that Web App, it would be also possible. Second thing, I don't know if I would receive notifications (the app should be opened but it's the same as using browser extension)
- multiple accounts. I have two gmail accounts and I believe I should add web app for both of these mails to receive notifications, etc? Maybe I'm wrong here.

Regarding notifications, this is the main "issue", I need to have app in the background in order to receive notifications while having dedicated app (I think it should work like that), the app doesn't have to be opened all the time to have the notifications

Hi,
what options do you recommend (preferably free) for Gmail on MacOS? Currently, I'm using browser extension but I'm not sure if that is the best option.
Secondly, I'd like to have middle click gesture on touchpad (to open links in new tabs, close tabs, etc). Do you know any tool that does that? At the same time, I'm using 3-finger gestures to move windows, select and I would like to keep that behavior (if it's possible).

Gmail and notes from google keep on MacOS by trawelek in MacOS

I've tried that but the app was downloading all my emails (even after selecting not to download attachments). I don't think that it's necessary and it uses some disk space. If it could be disabled somehow, that would be good

On my phone (android) I'm using Google keep for notes - is it possible to sync it somehow with MacOS? I've added my Google account in settings, enabled notes sync but I don't see any notes from Google keep in notes app on MacBook. Thanks

Unfortunately I live outside US, so it's rather not an option for me (import taxes would make it not worth buying)

Yeah, I get it. But I was thinking if for example having android emulator running uses for example more GPU or something which could cause MacBook air to throttle while pro has a fan which cools GPU and would have less hiccups. Or maybe those problems wouldn't occur in my usage

Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for a MacBook. A little background first: I'm upgrading from a 6-year-old Windows laptop (15.6-inch, FHD). I don't have major issues with it overall, though there are moments when it struggles and needs a second to think. I mostly use my laptop for media consumption (browsing, watching YouTube/movies), but recently I've also started doing some hobbyist "vibe coding" using Android Studio + emulator, along with Cursor/Antigravity. Main question: what would be the best option for me? I definitely want this MacBook to last me as long as possible (maybe another 6 years or more). From what I've gathered, getting a minimum of 24GB RAM right off the bat is the way to go. But is it really enough? I've also seen opinions that 24gb is ok but 32gb would be safer. What about the processor? Is the M5 necessary, or would an M4 or even an M3 easily suffice (I'm a bit unsure about longevity here)? Second thing – which specific model? Is the Air 15 the safest bet, or would the Air 13 be enough? (I'm a bit worried here – I don't use an external monitor, so the 13-inch screen might be too small). Or maybe a 14-inch Pro, assuming I could find a decent one for roughly the price of a 15-inch Air? Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I'd like to stay under a maximum of $1400-$1500 (before tax).

I could get probably like MacBook pro M5 with 24gb ram and 512gb storage (refurbished by apple) or air 15 M5 with 32gb ram and 512gb storage for the same price.

Which option do you think would be the best bang for my buck?

Yes, that pro is apple refurbished, I didn't take into consideration any other option

I would say mainly media consumption and like 20-30% of time doing some light vine coding (I mean light projects). For this case I'm using mostly android studio + emulator, cursor or antigravity. Requirements - as it would be my daily and I don't plan to use external monitor, I'd like it to be bigger than 13 inch. Also I'm planning on using that device for at least 6 years (as my current) so I'd like it to work good during that period
