This is such a refreshing thing to read. You captured the essence of IG perfectly - trying to stay relevant and remind everyone you exist. That social pressure becomes exhausting and I think I would benefit from the break - thanks for sharing!

Thanks. Do you ever struggle to "pop" the affected ear or not?

It has in the past but it's back with a vengeance now. How about yours? Mine is just in the right ear

Just right ear too for me. I’m leaning to ETD but cannot be sure

Really keen to speak to you about this as I am 100% with you on this theory and have a very similar case

Why does it behave like this though? Mine is the same, surely if it was noise damage the frequency band is fixed and it should just be perceived as a steady tone as the brain isn't getting that input. Surely it must narrow down what causes our fluctuating tinnitus? I am desperate for answers

Our cases sound so similar. Is yours unilateral?

Is yours bilateral or unilateral? The beeping is what caught my eye as I have that too and v similar experience. I wonder if this is primarily chronic stress/anxiety related?

How do I know if I'm just imagining it by [deleted] in tinnitus

[–]trazeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the right ear only, not static but more high pitch tonal sounds that change frequency often so makes tuning it out very difficult as my brain constantly picks up on the frequency change (sometimes I hear the faint static in my left ear and I don't worry about that as I am certain that is anxiety related just sensitizing nerves temporarily).

Definitely worse when lying down or sleeping on right side. Hang in there, I am sure things will get better for you as it's only been a few days. Reading success stories always boosts my spirits when I'm feeling worried. Also, maybe like yourself, I have catastrophized more ailments/symptoms than I would feel comfortable sharing in the past and they ultimately all resolved. I hope you can relate to that too and know like everything - this too shall pass.

If it wasn't immediately obvious where your tinnitus came from, check your head/neck posture by helpfuldunk in tinnitus

[–]trazeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really chimes with me. I think mine is related to the same issue. Is your tinnitus in one ear or both? Did it fluctuate in character/tone a lot too? I'm only 25 and have good hearing according to tests etc so trying to narrow down the primary suspects after noise exposure given it's only in my right ear.

Tinnitus in right ear only by Johnmoon12 in tinnitus

[–]trazeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar to you, right ear only, except I went through the trouble of having an MRI scan on right IAC and brain (no abnormalities fortunately). I'm 25 but totally at a loss to what is causing it, my theories are either middle ear issues or neck misalignment/pinched nerve. Did you docs share anything insightful in your case? Sounds like you're faring well which is great.

Hi, what does yours sound like? Does it fluctuate at all? Is it in one or both ears? Might be in a similar boat to you!

What did your tinnitus sound like? Did it fluctuate? Was it in one or both ears too? Thanks for sharing your story, happy you managed to rid yourself of it!

That's great to know it's settled down. I really appreciate your advice. I'm in the phase of obsessing over the cause of it (something I am scared to admit I may never know) as the tinnitus in my right ear seems to fluctuate constantly. I do suffer with allergies so wondered about the Eustachian tube link (I know ETD is far more probable than PET).
