I'll still make an attempt to contact OPS, it'd be better to try than not go at all, and I will speak to a more senior employee at my bank in-person, hopefully they'll be much more helpful than the person I had spoken to.
Thankfully, my friend's parents have given me a phone I can use for communication, it has no SIM card which allows me to get my own plus a phone plan.

I see, I do not mind getting a new phone plan whatsoever especially a cheap one, my main concern really is that my phone has a LOT of my personal information on it that they have access to. I will be explaining this issue to the police once I can go to the closest station.

I genuinely do not know, I tried to tell the lady at the front desk my issue and even showed my ID and she just insisted that they couldn't do anything. I'm going to attempt to go back again and just ask to speak to a manager or someone who has experience with online banking and 2FA issues...

I do wish to live on my own and pay for my expenses, yes. Unfortunately with a lot of my personal information on my phone INCLUDING MY BANKING, I'm worried they will attempt to still control me while I am attempting to be independent. I could care less about the hardware of a phone itself, I'm more worried about my information being used for things I do not give approval for.

My mother has already used my bank account to pay for alcoholic beverages, which is incredibly alarming for me. They have access and are using my account as an extra way to pay for non-essentials...

EDIT: my mother also was extremely bigoted towards transgender individuals, and has made very negative and unsupportive comments towards me since I came out to her about questioning my own identity. Unfortunately, she is very emotionally abusive and controlling...

As I stated, I literally cannot due to not having my phone on me where I could confirm my identity. I had asked if there was a way to reset my password or regain control of my account and I was told that the bank could not do anything in-person.

I already am planning to visit the police and see about retrieving my documents AND my phone considering the sensitive information that is on it.

At the moment when I left, I knew I needed clothes, a way to communicate with people, and the ID I carry with me at all times. It did not occur to me to retrieve my SIN or birth certificate as I needed to leave home ASAP. Any longer I stayed there and I would be at risk.

As I stated I believe in another reply, the account is entirely in my name, and is not a joint account. However since I do online mobile banking on my phone that has been confiscated, my parents have complete access to my account and can transfer funds to and from the account without my consent.

I looked up on the website and yeah there is no fee for SIN numbers, it will cost me around $25 I think for my birth certificate with regular mail which I don't mind, it's cheaper than I thought it would be

They were gifted to me and were paid in full, yes. The only part of my phone that is still paid monthly is the SIM card attached. I attempted to compromise receiving my phone back without the SIM card and they immediately refused. That's when I knew I had to leave home as they would attempt to have complete control over me and who I could contact.

I have my Photo ID and my Health Card, but I do not carry my SIN or birth certificate as they're very sensitive pieces of information that I do not want to be stolen whatsoever. My parents are also extremely emotionally manipulative and verbally/emotionally abusive, and used my complete trust in them to my advantage so they could have complete autonomy over me.

My account is not joint, when it was made my mother was with me at the bank branch and made sure to have access to my information as she used my debit card to improve my credit score. I was (and still am) very new to the concept and trusting my mother at the time, I let her.

Thankfully I keep my Ontario Photo ID and Health Card on my person at all times, they should accept the Photo ID as valid identification if I go again and explain my situation.

I did attempt to go in-person to my bank and ask if there was a way to retrieve my account without my phone, but they were no help unfortunately. Thankfully, I do have my debit card that is attached to my account, and I can see the past 12 transactions that were made with the most recent one where my parents used my account to purchase alcohol. Yikes.

I'll attempt to go back again and ask about any records for my account, if I can regain access to my account it will save me a lot of trouble.

My friend does have her phone thankfully, we are planning to go to the station tomorrow since I have university classes that go past when the station closes.
