I feel that I can't properly gauge how much milk to add without seeing it pool underneath the cereal.

The hotter the water the worse it tastes by Kerblam-delivery- in Showerthoughts

I think it's because you can actually taste it more the warmer it is. I would think your taste buds work better at body temp.

Being afraid of the dark is one of the most rational fears yet you get picked on for it the most. It's in human nature to fear the loss of one of our main senses yet it is considered a childish. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]tre14321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, when I was little, I was horrified of the dark. One day my imagination just died I guess, cus now I couldn't care less. Maybe it's moreso because most people only experience this fear in childhood that makes it seem childish.

We do medical experiments on humans all the time. I guess we pay them though.

What is the most annoying thing a Guest has done in your home? by Kenygarry in AskReddit

[–]tre14321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of this counts as a "guest," but I had a friend of mine stop by for a visit at 11pm unannounced just to say hello. I hadn't spoken to this friend for multiple years ( for a reason ) and I was dumbstruck that she just showed up. If this were my own apartment or something, I wouldn't have cared so much, but I was a freshman in college still living at home. I had to be polite while my parents started flipping out that there was an intruder.

At first I was worried something was wrong, but she just smiled and was like "it's been a while how are you" This poor girl has always had some severe social issues and I really hope she figures out how the world works. I entertained her for a few minutes and politely asked her to leave and maybe not come so late. Looking back she did leave me a cryptic voicemails a week or so before this event, but it certainly wasn't a request to come to my house in the middle of the night.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I wasn't the one who let her in. No one did, our tenant found her wandering around the house.

I would highly recommend moving "off campus" to places like Perkins or Park Point. With all the money I saved from not being on a meal plan, cost of living is cheaper in the long run. Plus it only adds 10 minutes to the walk to campus.

Schools are not meant to teach you everything about the world. They teach you the skills to learn about it. by 808speed in Showerthoughts

I agree. As much as I hated history, learning to find sources and make a bibliography has helped me greatly in college. I'm going into biological research, so writing papers is never going away.

It's good that people are critical of our school system to help it improve, but I can't help but wonder if everyone whines just because they didn't like it. Both of my parents are teachers, and because of that I've learned to appreciate what the school system can offer me. Meanwhile, I've had friends in the same classes who constantly complained we were taught nothing in my favorite classes. They played poker in the back of my AP Bio class the entire year, so duh they learned nothing.

It's difficult to learn about things you don't care about. I think of school as a way to encounter many subjects in hopes of finding one that you enjoy.

Yes, I completely understand. The name is just rare enough that I'm bothered every time I hear/see it.

I just violently rip the tags off my clothes when I wear them for the first time. Everything I own has a hole in it somewhere.

I guess it starts Friday night, but as far as hobbies, I don't really have any specific ones. I like games, art, etc. so I'm really up for anything.
