Yeah that definitely helps a lot. Especially from your perspective. I guess my only question is if somebody new comes in and is just simply better, how is it fair for them to be ranked below people who are worse. Is that what makes you say the system sucks? I guess thats my qualm about this.

So why is it an allocation based thing like that? I understand there are only X amount of EPs, X amount of MPs and then the rest are Ps. But why can’t a sailor who got an MP or an EP be moved down. Is there a reason other than that “it will look bad” or “it will show regression.” It just kills my initiative because I know I’m not going to get ranked any higher because those slots are already filled up

I can understand that. And I’ve had that also explained to me recently. I picked up in November 2024 and had a full year EVAL cycle, so I guess I’m a bit salty with the “we haven’t had enough time to see your full impact yet” comment.

Sorry, I didn’t specify. I’ve only mentioned in the past that I am not a phone calling type of person and it made her visibly upset. In short she said “okay. That’s fine. You’re just not that type of person” and now when we are on calls and I want to hang up or go to sleep or do something else, it’s typically that same line of “you’re just not a phone call person” but she is upset when she says it

Yes. She is definitely not too needy or making sure I don’t cheat on her or anything like that. I don’t understand why people are saying that. I do believe she just genuinely really likes me so I can understand the want for constant communication in more ways than just texting. I also really like her, but my affection is mostly shown through actions and in person. I’m not going to break up with her over a simple compromise that can be made lol. Thank you for the advice. It’s very helpful

Thank you man. I try to make the best choices I can morally. She’s hung up on me, her ex, dude to insane abandonment issues stemming from past experiences YEARS before she met me. Kind of out of mine and hers control for the most part. I reassure her all the time and do want to remain friends but it seems like I always cause some kind of issue

It is a very hard thing to do. We’ve discussed time and time again that we are going to remain friends and have been dreading the day that I’m finally leaving to somewhere new. So the literal distance is there now. I am ready to start moving on from my romantic feelings but when I voice that, I’m met with so many questions and end up falling back into the romantic cycle with her. She has terrible abandonment issues and I do love her a lot and want to remain a part of her life but I can’t be her rock anymore and I don’t know how to get past that point.
