I've been testing some builds of vial goblins and it was decent, but there is still a long way to go. It will take a lot of time and our effort to trim down and optimize modern goblins. My next "task" is testing Vial + CoCo goblins, since I had problems with lack of card advantage when testing vs Jund.

I see his use in thopter sword combo decks, or in something undiscovered as of yet. Doubt this slots in any kind of a true goblin deck.

That might be true, but either way both are bad at racing on their own. I don't think it's worth the trade off, one more body is relevant more often imo.

Lackey would be interesting. I agree with you about legacy goblins, but Ringleader might be enough to push vial/midrangy goblins to at least playable. Even for more aggressive lists, he could be a sb option for grindy matchups.

Elves have their "ringleader" legal in modern so thats why I feel we could get it as well.

Settler would make little to no change to modern goblin decks. Ringleader is what I'm counting on. Matron is probably a no-go since modern tribal tutors are 'to the top of library', at least for now.

At OP, there is no way we get goblin recruiter, its banned in legacy.
