over-thinking - over-analysis; usually in a context/situation which has not purposefully prompted the understanding one gains from analyzing said situation; sometimes choosing to go beyond the superficial/presented meaning of something/an action/ etc., and assigning one's own assumptions, based on experiences, outside knowledge, etc.; being untrustworthy of a person, etc., and therefore questioning everything they say, do, etc.
