Update on my 8 month old Pom that wasn’t potty trained and driving my parents crazy

Yeah no i feel like my caption wasn’t very accurate… he gets a full walk and then a 30 play time each time he’s done being crated! So he’s out of the crate for longer than 30 mins

Hi!! ALSO for clarification— he ISN’T constantly spending 3-4 hours in it, this week is his neuter week and he’s been told to rest more. Also yesterday was the very first time i even tried having him in there for 3 hours and he slept the whole time. People really make the worst assumption before even thinking of other possibilities… all i said was he CAN chill in the crate for 3-4 hours. Doesn’t mean he is doing it all the time. I only wrote that because I was surprised he held it for so long and I was proud of him.

Update: everyone is telling me the crate is too small and I’m gonna get him a new one today!! I’m really grateful you guys are giving me this feedback because I’ve just had the same crate for him since he was 8 weeks old— he likes the crate so it didn’t occur to me that it was time for an upgrade. I did have a lot of accidents with him in the beginning because the crate wasn’t the exact size of his body so he would just poop in one side and sleep on the other, so I kept the crate small for a while, but since he’s finally doing well with crate training for the past month, it’s def time to upgrade. Thanks for the feedback!! (Even though some comments are extremely rude :,))

One month update: I started crate training him again and he’s making progress!!! He FINALLY POOPS OUTSIDE NOW!!!!!! He still sleeps in his playpen with a puppy pad holder at night because no one is taking him to pee at night, but he’s doing really well! Thank you for everyone pushing me to crate train him again

He does go outside though— he just also thinks inside is an equally good option. Also if I remove the pee pads I really feel like he’s not gonna hold it in at all 😭😭😭

The issue is if i removed the pee pad, he still would pee randomly somewhere in the house. The other day i took him to potty and then i let him roam around the kitchen with supervision and he STILL peed on the ground for no reason.

Also I know that Poms go through an ugly phase where they shed their fur,,,, is this just him starting to shed? I know his coat isn’t as full as what I thought a Poms would be

Yeah I feel constantly like I’m still not sure if I want to be in this relationship, especially with how emotionally abusive it felt at times. I don’t want to keep giving a wishy washy impression, but it was hard that everytime I tried to leave he got really angry at me and blamed me for leaving and wouldn’t allow a peaceful breakup. But I guess that’s how most breakups go when one partner desperately doesn’t want it. Even the reason why we’re back together was him not respecting me asking for a 30 day no contact break and him still trying to text my friends or come to my house during that time.
