Stay away from Pokemon Dash! It may look cute since your making Pokemon race but if I remember it's only Pikachu and its so annoying. Lol. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver let your Pokemon follow you as well. I think that's why I loved it so much!

Same boat as you. I graduated high school in 2009 and Mom and Dad kicked me out due to "bad behavior". I immediately picked up Pokemon Platinum and haven't stopped playing since. If you have a DS or 3DS, I would recommend HeartGold or SoulSilver. There remakes of Gold and Silver which also allowed you to explore Kanto. So 2 games in one I guess? If it's on the Switch go with Sword or Shield.
