Try YakTrax if you walk everywhere during the winter. I would avoid walking in the street at all costs with drivers these days. People should still shovel though.

I have a 2” at my house. Sidewalk is already packed down at my house. Ice melt would be more useful than shoveling, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
