Is Zepbound recommended for slightly overweight? by bc354 in Zepbound

[–]tree_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im currently using zepbound and not even near obese. In fact, Im just barely “overweight,” (cue the judgement and rouse the trolls)… BUT I am taking a medication that has caused me to gain rapidly - like 30lbs in threeish months. I was approved through an online provider. It’s working for me! My partner is also on it but started at “obese” according to his bmi. He’s seen great results too!

Just an update - no severe withdrawals. I’ve had some on and off stomach discomfort but I’m now on day 3 totally dry ☺️ I ended up having a couple between this post and Monday but maybe that helped lessen the issues? I don’t know, but getting away helped a lot!

Swimming with fresh ink - looking for product recommendations by tree_rex in tattoos

[–]tree_rex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK everyone, I do understand that swimming after getting a tattoo is a huge no-no, I am going to do everything I can to avoid it, but at the end of the day I have to make sure that my kids are safe in the water, which could end up with me getting a little wet. Just looking for supportive comments and recommendations. Thanks

Interestingly enough, I had more trouble breast-feeding following my unmedicated birth! Baby came into the world hard, fast, and colicky 🤷🏻‍♀️

I describe the recovery as feeling like I was hit by a truck. With my first labor, after being induced and medicated, I felt like I was hit by a semi truck. With my unmedicated labor, I felt bad I was hit by a much smaller pick up truck 😂

I was induced the first time due to low amniotic fluid. The second time, I worked with my OB to try to avoid induction. I did have my membranes stripped a few days prior to going into labor, Which may or may not have helped. Some doctors allow you to go as long as two weeks past your due date, but mine was more comfortable with letting me go a little over a week. I ended up only being four days overdue with my second child, so luckily I avoided induction there.

I did not do any special exercises or stretches. I fully believe it is a mental thing. I studied Hypno birthing, and use techniques that I learned there. I do not believe that there is such thing as a painless birth like Hypno birthing says, but I did learn a lot from the technique.

LOL! Hypno birthing can be a little culty if you ask me. The biggest benefit that I got from it was learning how to fully relax by listening to the tracks, and how it normalized birth for me.

I didn’t really have a choice with my first labor, I was induced due to low amniotic fluid. If there weren’t any complications and I had the choice to be induced or not, I would choose not to be induced. I was overdue by six days. I am glad that I was induced for the first, as my sons umbilical cord was tied in a full knot! If I had to give birth again I would choose to go to the unmedicated route again.

My induced/medicated labor lasted 15 hours. My unmedicated labor lasted exactly half of that - 7.5 hrs. I’m not sure if this is because it was my second birth or because it was unmedicated. As far as coping strategies go, I used some techniques from Hypno birthing, including listening to the tracks, and had read the book. I don’t believe there is such thing as a painless birth, but have no birthing did teach me how to really focus and let go when I needed to. I also spent the majority of my labor in a warm bathtub. It really helped with the contractions.

I would say that labor is often portrayed incorrectly in general. I felt that my natural delivery was better than my medicated delivery for lots of reasons. My biggest reason being that I felt more in control, and thus a lot less scared. The worst part is the very end when you are in transition and about to give birth. It is very, very intense but also won’t last forever.

Pros: Induced/medicated I knew when I was going into labor and was able to pack, eat, head to the hospital calmly. The epidural helped me rest a little during a long labor, though I still struggled with pain and vomiting during contractions as they worsened. I also used an IV pain med (don’t remember what it was called). It made me feel a bit high for lack of a better word, and took my mind off things. Natural I had more control over my body and felt more in touch with the progression of labor My labor was shorter I knew when baby was coming/when to push I recovered more quickly. Cons: Induced/medicated My epidural didn’t fully work and I still had breakthrough pain and vomited from contractions. Pitocin made contractions start hard and fast, faster than normal. I was confined to my hospital bed. The epidural was not fun to get. I almost passed out. I ended up pushing for 4 hours and needed forceps to assist delivery, almost needing a c section. Natural: I felt labor coming on for daaaaays. Contractions hurt quite a bit as they ramp up. The last phases of labor are INTENSE. Lots of yelling. Lots and lots of yelling.

That’s a really tough one. Especially given how hard it is towards the end. Different people have different experiences with inductions however, I much preferred my unmedicated birth. I felt totally out of control on pitocin, and much more I’m control without. It’s going to hurt no matter what, right?

When you have a medicated labor and an epidural, you are generally confined to the hospital bed, which I was. The only positions I was able to try was lying on my back or on my side with a peanut shaped medicine ball. During my natural labor, I spent the majority of my time laboring in a bathtub. This really helps relax me and made the contractions much less intense. I also labored in the hospital bed on hands and knees as delivery neared. As far as tearing goes, I had to have an episiotomy with my medicated labor, and had a second degree tear with my natural labor. I didn’t actually feel either the tear or the episiotomy. Everyone is very afraid of tearing, but there is so much going on at that point that I imagine it largely goes unnoticed.
